Summary

Even from a distance, he could see Elrond bristle at this demand, jaw tilting up like a horse resisting a bridle. Adar watched as the young commander mastered his own anger and made his way across the room.
Adar smiled when the Half-elf came to a stop beside him, and he reached out to fondle the chain that hung between the silent beauty’s supple wrists.
“You were foolish to send young Peredhel to barter for Galadriel’s release,” Adar told the Elven king. “I might have overlooked his beauty in the heat of battle, but I had ample opportunity to admire it across the negotiation table.”
Adar looked up at Elrond’s face, and the loathing that confronted him was invigorating. The Moriondor found the Half-elf’s fierce emotions captivating. Such ire was refreshing after centuries of cold indifference.
“When Eregion finally fell, my children were eager to ransack the city, but I could think of only one treasure I wished to plunder…”

“I don’t know…” His father glanced across the lobby, impatience palpable. After a moment, he pointed out a male librarian piling books onto a rolling cart. “How about the pretty one over there? I’m sure he’ll know exactly where you can find your book.”
Pretty… Glûg immediately latched onto this word, surprised to hear his father take notice of another man’s beauty. He took a moment to assess the librarian for himself before agreeing.
“Yes, he seems nice. I’ll go ask him, Dad.”

Adar’s gaze darkened when Elrond spoke his name aloud, and his lips curled into a smirk.
“I have no doubt of your…charms,” he rasped. “But I do not believe that Galadriel has fallen for them.”
“Then let me put your doubts to rest,” Elrond stated, a flash of rebellion in his gray eyes.
Galadriel let out a soft gasp as he pulled her against him, his mouth meeting hers in a sudden kiss.

Galadriel’s frown faltered, the corners of her mouth quirking up. “I don’t sleep with thieves either.”
Halbrand’s low chuckle sent a ripple of arousal through her body, a sudden heat pooling between her thighs. He tossed back the rest of his drink, tongue swiping across his lower lip to capture an errant drop of liquor.
“Then I guess I’ll have to buy a second drink…” he murmured. He pulled a wad of cash from his pocket, placing a large bill on the counter with a smirk. “...if I want to continue to enjoy the pleasure of your company.”

His eyes shifted back up to meet her own, and she could see her own hunger reflected upon his face. It was a dangerous hunger, the kind that one would commit atrocities to sate.
Halbrand’s lips spread to reveal a lupine smile. He was beautiful and beastly all at once.
