Summary
A merchant from Mahdia visits a port city in the north of the Italian peninsula. He encounters a priest at his stall who mentions that he is joining the Christian cause to "take back the holy land." The merchant attempts to persuade him to abandon the call, and the priest, a lover of stories, tells the merchant that only accounts of his travels will convince him to leave the church upon the hill.
Or, two epistolary poems exchanged between merchant and priest.
