Kageyama squints like he wants to say something. Processing, the way he does when he’s starting to finally grasp the pre-calc Kei has been lecturing for the last forty minutes.
“Was that… banter?” he asks. “Do you and Hinata banter?”

Uncertainty flashes behind Obi-Wan's eyes, then understanding; not for the first time, Cody is grateful for all of the long hours spent just the two of them, making it easier to read each other’s expressions. “They’re stronger than we thought,” Obi-Wan guesses, certainty colouring his tone as Cody nods. “Give the order. I’ll head into the front, provide what cover I can.”

“Cody. Get your brothers out of the front.” He smacks his newly tied vambraces together to adjust them to his comfort, then pulls Cody close, pressing their foreheads together in a Keldabe.

“Who are you?” a child demands, with Merlin’s familiar eyes and a mop of dark hair falling over his forehead, and two ears sticking out from his face. “How d’you know my name? Are you a knight?”
“Oh, no,” Arthur says, in what he thinks is a very apt assessment of the situation.

In Camelot, the solstice is celebrated with a hunt the day before, and then a big feast the following day. t's so different to the solstice in Ealdor. In Ealdor, food stores are running low, most of the game has disappeared for the winter, and the nights are bitterly cold, and dangerous.

“Well,” Bradley says gamely. “Legally speaking, I think we’re, like, one piece of paper away from being married.”

Jake and Bradley had come in late last night and settled into the guest room of Maverick and Iceman’s beach house. Jake had driven them both up at Pete and Tom’s insistence after Mav’s voice on the phone and Jake’s hand running up and down his back hadn’t been enough to get Bradley to stop shaking when he’d woken up screaming from a nightmare.
He's hoping being there will be good for Bradley, maybe finally get him to talk about how he's been feeling. Because Bradley's the one who's bottling everything up.
And Jake is perfectly fine. He swears.

“He had this whole… prom-posal thing for her planned out.”
Damian wrinkled his forehead. “Prom-posal?”
“He was going to ask her after a game or something. Play a song. Make a sign.” Jon waved a hand as though the plan was inconsequential. As though he didn’t see the point of making a big deal out of it.
Which meant that he wanted to make a big deal out of it.
Damian had the distinct impression that he had been focusing on the wrong part of their conversation.
“That seems excessive.” Damian said simply to say something, his mind stuttered to a stop. This was the problem, perhaps, of the two of them having these talks when Damian was more exhausted from patrol and his general day then he wanted to let on. Jon wasn’t the type to drop bombshells without considering the consequences of how he dropped them and Damian was usually much quicker on the uptake.
Except he seemed to miss this one.
