Summary
The xiphoid process, or simply, the xiphoid (/ˈzɪfɔɪd/) is a small extension made of cartilage located in the inferior segment of the sternum which is usually ossified in adult humans. Derived from an ancient language, the term 'xiphoid' connotes something ‘swordlike’ or ‘sword-shaped’.
Barely seventeen, and not yet hardened and fully aware of the ways of this harsh world, a fallen son of the forge and a girl born of noble frost meet each other in a quiet, rain-swept shrine on Yashiori. They exist in a still cartilaginous reality bound by the memory of a funeral and the weight of a foreign blade.
The process begins.

Summary
This is a game of chance, but it is also a game of who gets the better chances to win eventually. Not all chits are created equal, you see. Everyone reaches into a closed fist and pulls out a folded future. You don't get to choose who you are—you only get to choose how well you lie about it. Just like this cruel life of yours.
There’s a strange game called ‘Raja, Mantri, Chor, Sipahi’ that school kids play in Sumeru. He doesn’t quite get why the game sounds like a metaphor for his life, but real life is often stranger than fiction, as they say. This is a tale of five-plus-one acts forced out into the daylight that sift through memories that don’t quite exist.

Summary
Approximately a year has passed since the Vision Hunt Decree came to be, and there’s a new light novel in the stalls of Yae Publishing House. Its back cover reads as follows:
There is a girl belonging to a fallen noble house who has been doing odd jobs in Inazuma for a decade now, trading her silk fans for blades and her smooth, noble skin for callused palms. But when the Shogun’s lightning strikes too close to her home, what is a nineteen-year-old woman supposed to do when all she possesses is a handful of mora, the blade by her side, and the clothes on her back? Of course, she is forced to bet her life on a memory, a ronin’s shadow and a desperate hope for her family’s survival.
Ultimately, this is a lesson in avoiding a dull ending.

Summary
Everyone thinks the lady of the Kamisato Clan to be as perfect as a person can be—including perhaps even the ronin who lies through his teeth when he states their paths have crossed seldom.
To the entirety of Inazuma, Kamisato Ayaka is the noblest of all noble ladies, extremely modest and most ladylike. But the truth is that she has never really been born. Secretly, she’s a conniving thief who is not above wanting to syphon someone’s freedom for herself—even if it means seeking out a vivid flame that promises to burn her.
But is the flame really a flame, or is it just the remains of a fire viewed as such from her distorted lens?

...this may contain hope.

Many moons have risen and passed since that fateful morning in Sumeru City—even more since a trip to Kazuha's homeland led him to meeting a quiet stranger lingering around the place where Kazuha's ancestors once lived and died. Back then, he was a little younger, a little more hurt, but just as taken by Kunikuzushi as he is now.

Presented by the Sumeru Akademiya Press, Department of Historical Ethnography
Volume XII, Issue 3—"The Lightkeepers: Myth, Memory, and the Long Night"Selected papers, recovered correspondence, and transcribed artifacts presented at the Third Annual Symposium on Nod-Kraian Cultural Heritage, held at the Akademiya Grand Lecture Hall, Sumeru City. Compiled and edited by Dr. Vireshka Dastur, Chair of Northern Teyvatian Studies.
Editor's Note:
The Lightkeepers of Nod-Krai remain one of the most enduring and least understood institutions in Teyvatian history.
This volume collects several papers and primary source materials presented at the third Annual Symposium on Nod-Kraian Cultural Heritage. Of particular interest is the ongoing scholarly debate surrounding "Ratnik Flins," whose historical existence remains hotly contented and whose relationship with the better-documented Starshyna Illuga Nikitovich continues to generate discussion in fields ranging from military history to folklore studies. We trust our readers will find much to consider.
