Bookmarker's Notes
Alternate timelines of how Jon's life could've gone, in which he never quite manages to escape the Eye, but the world sometimes does. An incredibly hopeful fic for a pretty tragic canon with characterization and a mimetic that nonetheless matches The Magnus Archives perfectly. Complete.
Warnings: canon-typical eye trauma, death, violence (including burns). Also mention of corrective rape.

MCU Daredevil AU with the premise of Earth-65. Matt Murdock was raised by the Hand and is Fisk's assassin and personal counsel, but his relationship with Foggy leads him first to love, then to Daredevil, and then to the DA's office. First two parts Foggy POV work as a duology; third part, Gwen POV, works as an epilogue. Matt's intensity burns brighter than his smug amorality here, and it's absolutely amazing to watch him come to where he is in canon in a roundabout way, and because of love. Complete.

The trouble with Charles Xavier isn’t just that he teaches genetics and holds terrible views about mutant rights—it’s also becoming increasingly clear that everyone but Erik seems to love him.

AU where Erik is a political science professor attempting to start a mutant pilot program at his university, and Charles is the new genetics professor who takes part. An intensely real, vivid world, from overflowing tables in Queens during the High Holidays to the sweltering heat of a college town without college kids in August. Erik hatereads mutantphobic articles and sets his "just wait until I have tenure" mantra to music. Enemies to lovers, but both Charles and Erik are so much more than what they mean to each other.

52 apologies from Erik to Charles over the course of their relationship. Epistolary, an at times gutting and at times uplifting take on canon events. More canon than canon.

Summary
“Alexander Hamilton! I’m at your service, sir!”
Aaron looks at the hand and doesn’t take it. His hands are safely in his pocket, but he’d taken off his gloves, and he is not particularly in the mood to feel the single most consequential juncture of a stranger’s life.
Alexander is still grinning at him, and the moment is stretching on, and he refuses to put his hand down, and Aaron has about half a second before this staring contest verges beyond the mere impolite and into the territory of heavy, awkward weight and scattered excuses—and before he can think better of it, Aaron takes Alexander’s hand.

FAVE. AU where Aaron Burr is a seer: he sees the deaths of the people he touches, and he is sent through time to relive his life, with full memories, when he dies. This is the story of his desperate Groundhog Day-esque attempt to keep himself from killing Alexander Hamilton. Abandoned.
Warnings: slaveholding characters, major character death.

Summary
In his 2009 book on Captain America comic books, war photography, and American propaganda, Everett claims: “There is nothing to suggest that either the graphic novels issued during the war or the photographs taken during Rogers’ stay with the Howling Commandos can serve as a basis for a queer reading of Rogers and Barnes’ relationship. But even more importantly, there is nothing to suggest that such a relationship ever existed in the first place, and as such, those queer readings are not only misguided, but also libelous” (197).
[from: Lynn E. Anderson, Captain America: Behind the Mask. Steve Rogers and the Contemporary Hero Narrative (New York: Palgrave Macmillan, 2012), p. 242.]
In the aftermath of Steve's return to the world of the living and the battle of New York, the academia and the Internet react.

Summary
More than a century after the events of His Dark Materials, a Rusakov particle physicist (and lifelong Lyra Belacqua fanboy) brings a team of experimental theologians to Night Vale.
It was supposed to be a simple research trip. Instead, Carlos finds himself making a home, falling in love, and — with allies like the alethiometrist who adores his hair, a well-read middle-schooler who's handy with a knife, and a young woman accidentally displaced out of space and time — facing down a gathering crisis which threatens to topple the entire Republic of Heaven.

CLASSIC. The long, plotty AU that sets Night Vale post-canon of His Dark Materials. Carlos comes to town, falls in love, and battles against the multidimensional hordes of Strexcorp. Featuring extensive Dana and Tamika sections, an adorable extended Ramirez family, worldbuilding to die for, and supporting scientists you will fall in love with. Every part is funny and fleshed-out. Read the supporting materials.
Warnings: violence (gore, major character injury), fantasy sexual assault, minor character death.
