“...I’m sure Mr. Undertaker’s opinion would be far more experienced than mine,” Millie says bashfully. Whether it’s a concession because she genuinely trusts Wolfwood’s expertise, or because she still feels bad having admonished him for the nickname, Meryl shakes her head.
“I’m asking you. What do you think?”
“Well, ah…” Millie’s hands fidget at the front of her jacket. She wears a large, loose trench coat with a massive collar that she can pop to protect her face from the elements. Right now, it’s folded down over her shoulders. Her tie is bright cherry red, makes her easy to pick out in a storm. Not that Meryl’s ever had any difficulty finding Millie, once they met; she always seems to be right there at Meryl’s shoulder. “I think… it’s worth looking at closer, but I wouldn’t want to leave the car, if you think you could drive in this weather…”
Wolfwood tugs surreptitiously at his collar. “I’ll take the wheel for this one.”
Meryl hums affirmation, oblivious to any digs on her driving abilities.

“Naturally,” Wriothesley says, with a twinkle in his eye as he leans over Neuvillette. “I love you as I love the skies, as the sun dawns to kiss it bright.”
He kisses Neuvillette’s cheek, and Neuvillette feels heat rise to where Wriothesley’s lips touch. He knows he can’t keep the smile off of his face, and brings up a hand to hide behind it.
“I love you as the moon hides herself on shy nights, and the wind comes to help her with a curtain of clouds. I love you, so dearly, that it’s the breath I breathe and the water I drink.”
For centuries, the demon gate of Leviathan had destabilized Fontaine, swallowing all its land and lakes while spawning demons and misasmic mists that destroy everything in its wake. Countless expeditions have been sent to destroy the gate, but none have succeeded. A year ago, the rate that the gate devours Fontaine accelerated. And suddenly the entire room saw the mask beneath. Why the anger was so strong. Their Firelord was in agony, yet had no wounds. Not even a scratch, if the reports were to be believed. Someone had made sure of that.
His face immediately righted itself, becoming harder and colder, his jaw clenching almost painfully. His black hair shined in the violent flames cascading around him from the walls. The long red scar on his left eye looked more grotesque in the light. “Find him. He can’t have gone far, not-” he hesitated, strongly, steeling himself once more and looking sharply at the men and women before him. “Not with that injury.”
But if they were hoping to find Councilman Sokka, Ambassador of the Southern Water Tribe in their search, they were in for a surprise.
He was good at hiding when he didn’t want to be found.

Summary
Which isn’t inaccurate. He does have something to hide. Sometimes it does make Wolfwood feel sort of… rodent-like. Right now he just feels unambiguously gross, though, a little sticky. So he enters the bathroom and washes his hands again, drags the water down his face, then reluctantly steps back into the bedroom.
He’s two steps in when Vash suddenly appears in front of him—probably, had been standing in front of the doorway all along, and Wolfwood’s just too in his own head to have notices. Wolfwood jolts, and opens his mouth to chastise Vash for being sneaky, but Vash grabs his wrists before he can speak, turning his hands over to study his palms.
“Maybe lay off on the washing for tonight,” Vash suggests, at length. “You’re going to dry out your skin.”

Wolfwood’s flushing, too, apparently having flown a little close to the sun in his efforts to get a rise out of Meryl. “Ears, Needle-Noggin?”
“Uh, yeah?” Vash gets to his feet and passes Wolfwood on his way to the dresser, rifling through the top drawer instead. “Turn it around.”
Wolfwood does, wordlessly. And indeed, a tiny pink rabbit tail is adorned to the leotard, right on the ass.
Meryl sinks down to sit on Vash’s bed. “Vash, w-why do you have this?”
As he digs in his drawer, Vash shrugs. “It was a while ago. Sometimes you just feel the need to branch out a little—besides, I love red. Have you ever seen one of those in red before? I think they usually come in black… Of course, my body was a little nicer to look at back then, haha. There’s a reason I thought I got rid of it, but it’s a little careless to just throw away such high-quality material in this day and age, right? I must’ve thought I could at least repurpose the fabric… Bingo!” He lifts a headband out of the drawer with big, floppy pink ears to match the tail.
