Summary
Slowly and cautiously, he took careful steps towards the house, avoiding any branches or leaves that were scattered around in fear of making a noise. Once he arrived at the doorstep, he raised a hand to knock, finding himself hesitating to do so, before finally mustering up the courage to tap his knuckles lightly against the wood. Seconds passed, each making him grow more anxious and tense than necessary, nothing but silence floating around in the air. His hand still hovered millimetres above the door, slightly shaking. After a brief moment, he felt it would be best to turn around and continue wandering the forest until he reached some sort of town, or at least another house that seemed to be occupied and could shelter him for the night, but just as he was about to turn around and walk away, the door opened, the creaking sound being emitted making him whip around instantly, a figure watching him from the slim gap of the door, before being opened wider. A tall elf with brown hair sticking about stood in front of him, olive green eyes looking him up and down while a confused yet concerned expression plastered on his face.

Spyder never got sick, ever.
He took care of his health without any flaws, immaculately, following each routine down to the smallest details, never missing a beat.
So why did he feel like absolute shit right now?!
From the second he got out, he could feel his head pounding, every bit of his body begging for him to rest, though he just brushed it off as after-effects of studying all night for a week or two straight, hoping it’d go away quickly or at least before he got to school.
Of course though, it didn’t go away.

On top of that, the classes were far too small to fit thirty-five students, and had too little chairs for each student, meaning a few had to sit down on the floor during class, one of them unfortunately being him.
It’s not like Saparata cared if he had to sit on the floor. Hell, he would’ve even preferred it if it meant that other people got to sit down on chairs. Besides, the floor was perfectly clean thanks to the school’s amazing cleaning staff, so it wasn’t an issue by his standards.
No, no. The issue was much, much bigger.

Scratch that, it probably does.
Well, that may have been a little too straightforward, so he’ll explain the situation mentioned beforehand from the very beginning.
It was no surprise to anyone that Saparata sucks at maths, and when he says this, he doesn’t mean “B/C grade student”. He genuinely means he’s on the brink of failing maths. Don’t get him wrong, it’s not that he doesn’t care about maths, far from it, actually. He just couldn’t find it in himself to pay attention in class, especially with the upcoming exams fucking up his sleep schedule immensely.

Eighth cycle. Slingshot knew what was going to happen. Coil would come over to the cafe at night, stay for a while and pester him until Slingshot would usher him out of the cafe, then he’d never come back. He was prepared to try and avoid the same situation again, but no matter what he tried, it would always be the same. No matter whether he let Coil leave, make him stay, walk him home, bring him back to his apartment, there was nothing Slingshot could do to avoid it. He’s tried seven times already, and frankly, he was getting tired.
OR
Slingshot gets stuck in a time loop moments before Coil goes missing. He tries everything he can to stop it from happening.

The friends he left back home miss him, Mumbo's college friends (cough, frat bros, cough) keep pestering him, and his new friendship with a certain scarred individual is developing in a way he never expected.

Grian rolled his eyes but indulged the hero. He slotted his hand through the man's arm and gave him a questioning smile, "Seriously, why do you keep calling me that?"
Hotguy gave a sly smile but nothing else, letting the professor's question be left on a cliffhanger.
