Summary
Bucky Barnes jumps at the chance to take a job opportunity hours from home. He's expecting a fresh start and a decent salary jump. He's not expecting to run into his childhood best friend, Steve Rogers, on his first day. The years since they last talked have been hard ones for both of them, but falling back into their friendship is shockingly easy. Despite their time apart, December in this small town might bring them closer than ever.
(Or, a holiday romcom in which Bucky reads to children, Steve teaches art, new friendships are made, difficult conversations are had, cookies are baked, way too much coffee is consumed, home is found in surprising places and, eventually, feelings are confessed.)

“Buck, look,” Steve snorted, bumping Bucky’s shoulder and pointing at the menu board. “So, if I’m a Cappuccino, I think that makes you a Babyccino.”
Bucky huffed out a breath that Steve knew meant an amused laugh. “What the hell is a Babyccino.”
“No fuckin’ clue,” Steve grinned fondly, “but it sounds real cute, so it fits.”
Bucky just gave a tiny roll of his eyes, but Steve could tell he was pleased by the way the tips of his ears flushed ever so slightly.

Summary
Steve Roger's is ready to adopt. Not a child, or a pet, but something more. He's looking to adopt a Neko. A rare, yet beautiful half human, half cat hybrid. And with the species growing, everyone wants one. And when Steve hears about them, he decides he wants to adopt his own companion.
So he decides to go to the Shield Shelter. Shield specializes in taking care of Nekos who have been abused and neglected by past owners, and putting them in loving homes. Steve is excited to adopt and give the hybrid he picks, a loving home.
But Steve was never expecting to meet Bucky. A Neko who was horribly abused by his former owners. Now all Steve wants is to give this Blue eyed beauty, a brand new life, and falls head over heels for him.
