Summary
After waking up in a strange place with only his exboyfriend (God, he hopes he's not dating this moron now), he's stuck trying to remember the last five years of his life. But everything seems to rub him the wrong way, from the boxes of Mac and Cheese to the utter depravity that is his closet.
The only time he ever seems to feel himself is around Julia, and there is something about her mouth...
He's still gay, isn't he?
Excerpt:Stewart had been to the gun range, Arthur realized as soon as he stepped into the entryway and could smell him. There was no mistaking the scent of gunpowder as faint as it might have been. When Arthur got closer, he closed his eyes and inhaled deeply.
“You should come with me next time,” Stewart said, and Arthur stepped back, embarrassed.
Something about the smell of gunpowder. It was comforting, familiar, almost routine. At the same time, it was provocative, heady. Arthur wanted to chase that scent down streets and corridors, through fields and forests, on boats and in cars. As if gunpowder were as vital as blood pumping through his veins. “Yeah, maybe.” His mind was too busy flitting from thought to thought to settle on anything except the need for a gun in his hand.Bookmarked by n4im4

Summary
Eames knows everything about everyone, it’s just in his nature to watch people, to ferret out their deepest secrets over the course of a few hours and a few drinks. People will talk to a stranger; they’re less guarded about personal details. Of course, Eames has a few of his own personal details–but a life of observation has taught him a thing or two about keeping those secrets, how to keep people at a distance, how to not get involved. He knows just how close to allow Arthur.
But Arthur’s been keeping secrets of his own.The wolves in the woods have sharp teeth and long claws, but it's the wolf inside who will tear you apart. – Jennifer Donnelly

Summary
In the words of my Beta, "time travel action rom com? I'm going with that."
Excerpt:
John shouted at the loud crack that split the air, and Julia dashed from the kitchen, wiping her hands hastily on her apron. They were both terribly unprepared for the arrival of a small boy inadequately dressed and unable to speak a word of English. He babbled, nearly incoherent, and began to cry.
John squared his shoulders, switched off the radio, and looked to his wife. For while they had been completely unprepared, had no clothes or toys or even a spare bed for the boy to sleep on, there was no one else who could have possibly been more prepared to help him.
“Langsam, mein lieber.” Julia said, slowly, hesitantly, not entirely sure that he would understand her.
But the boy paused and then said much more slowly in German that Julia was only loosely able to follow, “Where am I?”
And Julia’s heart broke just a little bit more for him. She knelt down and took his hands in hers and spoke slowly and simply so that he might be able to piece the meaning from her strange language, “Mein lieber, you are far from home.”Bookmarked by n4im4

Summary
The first time she meets him, he's nothing more than an almost-missed appointment.
~~~
Dean is silent for a long, tense moment, then he gruffly says, "It's not for banishing the angels. It's to summon them. So, it doesn't—it's not to get rid of 'em, but to draw 'em in."
Mitzi can't help but glance up at him at that. His voice is so heavy with so much unexplained pain, and she doesn't understand why, or what angels have to do with it. She knows religion can impact people. She's very aware that it can get complicated, and that it can be a huge source of pain for someone, but Dean sounds grievously wronged, somehow, as if it's a truly personal thing.
She pushes through, focusing back on her job, clearing her throat before murmuring, "Well, I guess we all want angels to visit us sometimes."
"Just the one," Dean mumbles.
"Your guardian angel?" Mitzi asks.
Dean breathes out, "Something like that. As close to one as an angel will ever get."
Summary
Arthur and Eames have different impressions of home. So how are they exactly the same?
Arthur: Maybe he would sit at the table, hunched over his coffee with the newspaper spread out all over everything, dripping marmalade and butter from his toast. Maybe he would lean against the butcher block counters while his tea brewed, arms crossed and frowning. Maybe he would sweep into the room just as the sunlight was beaming into the open window and pull this woman into a tight embrace, pressing eager kisses to every part of her face.
Maybe any of those things was true, but Arthur couldn’t really imagine them. He could only see him standing in line at the airport Starbucks, clutching his Venti Macchiato with a double shot of espresso, because if he was going to drink coffee then it would be something burnt and disgusting with entirely too much caffeine.Eames: Whenever I think of home I think of an airport Starbucks, and you sitting at the gate, reading the news on your phone and complaining about some other passenger, you know, the one with the luggage that most definitely won’t fit in the overhead compartment.
Summary
Sequel to In All Fairness, from Eames's POV.
This is the story of Eames who is very aware of all his own feels and has a tendency to write them down.And you were standing there in the kitchen, looking like a drowned kitten, so out of place, so vulnerable. I wanted to tuck you underneath my arms and hold you until the pain disappeared. You don’t belong in some country cottage. You’re made for high rises and the best of modern Swedish design.
I don’t belong in that kitchen either.
Whenever I think of home I think of an airport Starbucks, and you sitting at the gate, reading the news on your phone and complaining about some other passenger, you know, the one with the luggage that most definitely won’t fit in the overhead compartment.
How am I supposed to fix this? What did you want me to fix? My marriage? I think that sailed a long time ago, back in Kiev. And if you want me to fix what’s between us, I’ haven’t the slightest clue how to go about doing that. And besides, I don’t think that’s what you were talking about at all.
In one night, I’ve lost the three things most important to me.
How am I supposed to live with that?Series
Summary
"Perhaps not the textbook definition of a healthy relationship, especially considering what they’ve just been through. But it’s right. It’s fucked up and glorious. It’s them." ~Promises Whispered Like Prayers
Eames and Arthur aren't what you would call typical, and neither is their love story. Before they can enjoy their happily ever after, they must weather years of blood, pain, tears -- at times their own, but mostly that of others. Here's how it all happens. Series will hop and skip around, from the time they first meet to life after inception, including all kinds of moments between and beyond. Canon-compliant, in case that matters to you.
Summary
“They didn’t tell you what kind of thief I was, did they?” Eames asks.
Mutely, Arthur shakes his head.
“No, they wouldn’t. Well, I’m a dream thief. There’s a whole black market for dreamsharing. People will pay through the nose to extract someone’s secrets.”
“That’s impossible,” Arthur says. “The technology for dreamsharing is brand new. No one else has it.”
“Wrong,” Eames says casually. “Would it surprise you to learn that this is, in fact, the fifth iteration of Project Dream?” Those brilliant blue eyes watch Arthur like a hawk, seeing the shock ripple across his face like the aftermath of an earthquake. “Oh, yes, it is. It always ends badly, you see. But sooner or later, out of an excess of optimism, they start it up again, hoping for a different result.”
Summary
For as elegant and refined as Arthur’s made himself over the years, he was born on a plot of unruly grass, no bigger than the smallest room in Eames’ house. Not even in a town really, it's all just a vast open county spanning ranches and fields and rolling mountains—a county with a name Eames won’t pronounce, just for the chance to hear it pass through Arthur’s lips again in that drawl.
It's here where Eames learns that Arthur does not in fact fear death the way mere mortals do, and with good reason.
Summary
A body drops to the ground without a sound. The snow grows red underneath him, only just visible in the early morning light, but Eames doesn’t stop and watch. He moves on to the next guard. Holds, breathes, counts and shoots.
