The snow falls from the grey clouds and onto the frozen grass below. It’s officially winter which means in four days it’ll be Christmas. That would seem exciting, no? It would be, but Muichirou completely forgot to get a gift for his friends and especially forgot to ask them what they would like.
His memory has gotten better lately, but things that seem simple tend to flee his mind easier than other things. He guesses that asking his friends about what they would want to be gifted is unimportant to keep in his memory. Which seems… jerkish but it isn’t his fault really.
… Or maybe it is.

John leaned in close, the knife cool against the bruised skin of 1x1’s cheek. The blade’s edge traced a line with almost surgical precision, just enough pressure to leave a sting, a thin red line marring his skin, though not deep enough to bleed.
Their eyes met—John’s gaze steady, unreadable, like he’d seen far worse and would do far worse without blinking. “I’ll spare you,” he said softly, voice barely above a whisper. “But only ‘cause of how pitiful that was. I could get a damn fortune for turning you in, no doubt about it. You’re wanted, everyone knows it.”
He tilted the knife slightly, forcing 1x1 to hold his gaze. “But I’m feelin’ merciful tonight.”
