Batman warned Superman of the dangers of tagging along on a mission like this -- one where he's the obvious target of a dangerous plot -- but Superman seems to like danger a little too much.     Everything ached and burned across Clark Kent’s entire body, every muscle trembling as he sagged into restraints around his throat and wrists, the creeping numbness from being forced into the same position for hours steadily traveling up from his knees to his thighs with each endless second. Each crawling minute. The tears from earlier had dried into tracks against his bruised face, dark lashes stinging; each breath came shallow, halting, a faint wheeze rattling his frame every now and then. Even thinking was…was suddenly hard, so very, very hard, and yet as Clark rested in his cell with its harsh throbbing red glow and the faint buzz of something humming away its windowless walls, his heart a dull, roaring thud in his ears, he had just enough energy left in him to keep returning to that thought spiking through the fog.

    Clark has accepted what it means to be Lex's prisoner - the pain of the Green, the experiments, the hands on it. The long years buried in its containment cell, let out only to act as Lex's weapon, as Lex's tool. It had fought back at first, but years have ground it down and away to almost nothing.

    Then Lex hands it a baby. And Clark realizes that while it may have hurt humans, and lied about what it is, and it may deserve to be locked away - Kon deserves to be free.

    An asteroid is on a collision course with Earth that is bigger than the one that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Superman manages to break it apart, but at a cost. He crashlands in a strange land with no memory of who he is or how he got there.

    The chunk of rock is still orbiting Earth, the paper has taken to calling it 'Nightfall.' Both Clark Kent and Superman are missing. Lois Lane is worried for Superman's safety after she unearths the truth about Nightfall, fearing he might be dead. She works tiredly to find him, but with each second that ticks by she loses hope.

    With the Metropolis Wonder missing, and presumed dead, who will save Earth?
