Summary
Shuichi Saihara is.. something of a private investigator. Kaito Momota is his investigative partner (despite what his title of "sidekick" would suggest). Their goals for the future don't quite align, but what they have right now is good.
But deep down, Shuichi wishes his partner--his dear friend--would open up to him a bit. It doesn't take the eye of a detective to know something's wrong.
To his surprise, his wish is suddenly granted when he possesses the (metaphorical) key to Kaito's heart.

Summary
What mattered was Noob lying face-down in the grass, body jerking weakly, blood soaking into the dirt beneath him. His chest was torn open—007n7 couldn't bare to look at any longer than necessary, and every breath came out as a wet, choking rasp. He tried to speak, failed, and could do nothing but swallow blood instead. Something massive was lodged in his chest.
“𝙃𝙞𝙘— A— eugh—” Noob sobbed, choking between broken breaths. “E… Lliot…?”
It looked surprised.
“Woah! You already know about me!?” it laughed, genuinely pleased. “I’m so flattered.” A giggle bubbled out of it as it leaned closer. “Didn’t think I was famous enough for even the newest survivors to recognize me.”
It beamed.
“I feel like a 𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮!”
007n7 stared.

He was going to say more, likely more teasing, but his eyes were instantly locked onto the snowball as it was lobbed into the air like a cat that just caught sight of a laser pointer. With about two seconds of mental calculation, he aimed and fired - a quick pop, and the pack of ice exploded into a flurry of fast-falling flakes back over them.
Even if it was always freezing and maybe not all that fun for himself, Darnell couldn't help but enjoy these times he came out to do this with Pico every year. That was for one reason and one reason only; how happy Pico got.
Maybe it wasn't the most thrilling target practice of all time, or the most demanding, but something about those snow flurries made Pico's face absolutely light up in a way that it rarely did. Such raw, childlike glee was something the man did not often express, and here it was, bathed in the warm streetlights, so bright that Darnell felt blinded.
It was so perfect to him that Darnell could almost be tempted to stay out here even after he lost all feeling in his hands. Almost.

That’s Tomoe’s uniform, isn’t it?” She gestures towards Homura’s neckerchief, her skirt. “You fight too well for me not to know who you are. Where do you come from?”
Kyouko’s voice isn’t sincere. Even in previous repeats, when Sayaka has been able to make her most profound impression on the other girl, they’ve never come quite as far as sincere. But her eyes are wide and questioning, and despite the hard grip she has on Homura’s wrist, it occurs to her that Kyouko is… genuinely asking. She’s not being aggressive, she’s just curious. Intrigued, maybe.
And Homura…
remembers, the way Kyouko barged into Sayaka’s labyrinth, determined to save her, determined to put it all on the line for a girl who they all knew was well past saving.
