For all that the teasing in the Great Hall hurt him, two words float back to Remus’ memory making him ache. ‘My Moony.’
Remus stares pointedly back into his book. He knows he won’t be able to look at Sirius and not cave.
“Remus, darling,” Sirius starts with a teasing melodrama, effectively punching Remus in the stomach. “You have got to start talking to me again.” Don’t look at him. “Because someone used a sticking charm on the Potters and they physically cannot be parted. Peter is snogging now, and all the girls hate me.”
‘You’re better company than being completely alone, I guess,’ is what Remus hears. It’s better this way.
“And I miss you,” Sirius adds quietly.

James snorted loudly as he stood up, broom in one hand. He looked down at Sirius. “What you need, mate, is to get a life.”---
Remus and Sirius find themselves in a predicament. Both are hopelessly pining after each other, and after James dares them to pretend to be dating, they find that time is running out and they'll have to admit their feelings sooner rather than later. Centers around Wolfstar but focuses on lots of other characters as well :)

The Ministry is more concerned about cracking down on werewolves than it is about disappearing Muggleborns, Remus is a lousy prefect but a decent friend, and James has declared that all Christmas gifts must be "creative" this year. Includes strongly worded letters to the editor, Muggle protest tactics, Quidditch games, and a very temperamental Sirius. Happy Christmas!

Summary
Sirius studied Remus’ face. He was curious what he thought of all of this, the only one of them who didn’t have a mark– theoretically– and the only one with a muggle parent. Muggles didn’t get marks, he knew. If Remus’ parents were soulmates, then they wouldn’t know it. He wondered if there was a way to tell, though. If they could just feel it, somehow, even without the help of some magical fate.
Because it seemed like something you would just know, just from being near someone, from being close enough to them, from being in the same space. Like their souls would attract like magnets or like water droplets traveling down a window, waiting to merge until the last moment when they realized they were on the same path, and then they’d become one.
Was that fate, Sirius wondered?
He realized Remus was staring back at him, his eyes puzzled and curious and warm.
Sirius looked away first and didn’t look back, pushing down something heavy and impossible in his chest.
