Seth pulled away and stared at Evan for a moment before committing, pushing his lips into the other’s with an uncertain fear. Evan didn’t kiss back; he was shocked, confused, and completely unprepared for what was happening. When Seth moved back and saw Evan’s expression, he immediately backtracked.
“Sorry, I—I’m drunk, and I just— I’m straight, okay? I—”
As he continued his lengthy apologies, Evan’s mind raced. What should he say? Tell him he's straight? Tell him to leave? Kiss him back? This was not the way he had expected his night to go, but then again, neither was almost getting arrested, running from cops, or rejecting Becca.
He kissed him again, partly just to shut him up, because his rambling was getting annoying. But mainly, it was because he had to. He felt like kissing him at this moment was the only thing that mattered.
