Summary
It was not that she wished to hate and fear Elrond. On the contrary, she wanted nothing more than her darling little boy back in her arms, but he had become fey. How could she trust one who loved the very elves who had slaughtered her people and driven her to the Sea?
Despite her horror at Elrond's bonds with his kidnappers, Elwing agrees to meet with him once more in the hopes of finding common ground between herself and her horribly Fëanorian son. They come to an agreement, but not the one anyone had hoped for.

Summary
Raised voices, a snippet of conversation. Someone there. All in Quenya, but they had begun on their studies long ago, and Elrond had a decent handle on the language by now. Better to know what people didn't want him to know than not, even if it wasn't their language, their real family's language; not a surrender, just an advantage. It wasn't hard to place the words in the right spots to understand what was being said, and neither was it to connect the words - and voices - to faces. There was no shortage of Elves around them, always busy, rushing and paying the children little mind, but few sounded as musical, melodic as their dark-haired lord and even fewer with raspy baritone, hard and low and unyielding. It truly was not hard to tell.

Summary
The door behind him opened and the sound of twin gasps came from the entrance. The small smile that had been lurking on Gil-galad’s face widened, even as Celebrimbor’s heart fell. He did his best to make himself look small and unobtrusive, but there was only so much he could do, and he could not quell the sudden storm of rage he felt at the king for smiling. He was supposed to have taken personal responsibility for the twins. Did he not care for his charges? Did he not realize the harm exposing them to Celebrimbor could do?
Celebrimbor (reluctantly) meets the peredhil and finds himself immediately adopted by his strange new cousins.

“It is a difficult thing indeed to lose a daughter, but as you said, not all your kin are lost to you. Come visit me in my home. Let me teach you the things you should have learnt from your mother.”Elrond hesitated. That was to be expected. He had been trained to be loyal to his kidnappers. Thingol could be patient. He painted a gentle smile on his face and sweetened his voice.
“I am told you know a little of our festivals and our literature, but do you know our songs? Our dances? Do you know the food we eat and the clothes we wear? You should at least learn of your culture.”
After a disastrous first meeting, Thingol attempts to connect with Elrond, his one living male descendant. Elrond is more interested in negotiating peace between the Noldor and the Sindar. Neither get quite what they want.
