Wearing half a mountain’s worth of dirt and a patchy beard, the stranger reminded Six Balls of the Undead Bearded Bandit from pa’s bedtime stories. His hair fell in tangles to his waist, and bare, blackened feet poked out under the dirt-crusted robes.
He looked… He looked like a real hero who’d just rolled out of a fresh grave. The coolest, scariest kind of hero was the fresh-out-of-a-grave kind, in Six Balls’s opinion; that was when they were about to wreck the bloodiest vengeance on anything standing in their path.
“Children?!” yelled one of the stupider humans, who clearly didn’t know the best way to talk to an undead hero. (Don’t, if you can help it.) “These demons slaughtered six good men!”
Or: When Shen Qingqiu wakes up in his new plant body exactly one day later than he does in canon, it throws the plot in a whole new direction.

Luo Binghe doesn’t allow Shen Qingqiu to eat anything other than what he has cooked himself. At first, it was charming. Shen Qingqiu loves Luo Binghe’s cooking! To be treated to only these delicacies from his newly wed husband was like every perfect marriage he’d ever imagined in his previous life, just a little gayer.
But then three months passed with no hint of that honeymoon phase tapering off and it started to become a little odd, a little too excessive. Like a domestic waifu, Luo Binghe packed him food and snacks to eat, even if Shen Qingqiu was going to visit Cang Qiong. For lunch. He had to awkwardly tell the other Peak Lords that he didn’t need the meal they’d prepared and bear the stares as he ate his own food.
Now, two years later, Shen Qingqiu has made peace with it. It is just one of the peculiarities his husband has and it isn’t that much of a bad one either. Has he mentioned how much he likes Luo Binghe’s cooking?

And yes, he does notice the somewhat predatory glint in Luo Binghe’s eyes when he watches Shen Qingqiu eat.

“Sorry,” he says. “I’m not used to killing things.”
Smirk fading, Shadowheart looks at him with what might be pity. “Something tells me you might need to get used to it.”

But said paladin immediately frowns, “Categorically not when I’m asleep. If I’m losing blood I want to be conscious and consenting.” Astarion doesn’t get why he wouldn’t take the easier option, but then he notices a pink flush creeping up Revenant’s neck and ears… and it occurs to him that maybe he’s misread the situation. The stilted-ness isn’t unhappiness, it’s fluster.
Revenant also knows he’s flustered, and exhales in short, sharp annoyance. He squares his shoulders and continues in a forcibly stern tone, “My proposition is - that I’ll let you bite me, but I want to bite you back.”
It’s Astarion’s turn to be caught off guard, “Excuse me?”

They have their meals inside due to the cold. The warm aroma and steam block out the rest of the world. Luo Binghe’s eyes are bright as he discusses a recent mission with some Xian Shu disciples. Shen Qingqiu listens attentively, musing on how he must not be yet to throw off childhood, as he only mentions the girls in relation to their impressive use of garotting wires. He then inspires an impressive blush by pointing out a grain of rice stuck to Luo Binghe’s cheek.
Shen Qingqiu knows it can’t last, he does.
Luo Binghe had with his own hands prepared each and every of his meals for years, and in return he would be reduced to ripping apart a demonic beast and licking the blood from his fingers, beyond the point of caring whether it was the beasts or his own.

Or: Shen Qingqiu becomes used to Luo Binghe's delicious cooking, which feels like something much more than just food. When Luo Binghe... isn't there... well, he's an immortal cultivator, so he can skip out on eating, no problem, he's fine, life continues as normal.
