After Osial, Childe is sent back to Liyue with two directives: restore the status quo between the Fatui and the Qixing, and try not to cause trouble. Well, not any more trouble than he’s already caused.
Of course, that’s when a client of Northland Bank goes missing, and people start dying — but that’s not a problem when Childe is business partners with a certain consultant at the Wangsheng funeral parlor. Things might be strained between them, but they’re professionals. Cleaning up a mess like this should be a straightforward operation… that is, until clues point to the Abyss being involved. Then, like everything else in Childe’s life, it gets a little more complicated and a lot more dangerous.

Summary
Anbu has a new arrangement. While a captain's orders to his team are absolute, that is no longer the case inside the anbu compound. There, each team is given complete authority over their captains instead. And each team can do whatever they like with that authority, so long as they remember that their captain will regain control over them when they leave.
Note: This takes place in a vague sort of place after shippuden kind of happens. Naruto and his friends are about 20 by now, so Itachi is 25 and Kakashi's 32. For reasons that will become obvious, there is now a very strict age requirement (18+) for who is let into anbu.

Summary
How do you explain the time between moving in together as roommates for undergrad, and then being on the brink of never seeing each other again?
For Kaveh and Alhaitham, their lives have been tied together since a clerical error put them in the same room for their first year at the Akademiya. They became friends, and almost something more, but their lives became too messy to navigate and one explosive argument tore them apart for five years.
Now, they’re back in the same apartment and moving forward, even if moving forward means they’re trying to ignore a decade of history behind them. When Kaveh has the chance to move out and take a job in Fontaine, Alhaitham has to come to terms with how he’s pushed Kaveh away, and Kaveh has to face his own skeletons if there’s any chance of staying together.
It can only start with the beginning, and that means digging up the past and looking at their lives together… starting with the day they moved in.

It’s late enough that Childe doesn’t expect an answer until the morning, so he’s leaning over to put his phone away when three little dots appear at the bottom of his messages.
[Unknown Number]: Ah, apologies. I was intending to text my wife.
Childe squints at his screen. Wouldn’t the dude know their wife’s phone number? Childe’s about to respond when those dots reappear, another reply cycling.
[Unknown Number]: She passed away quite some time ago, and this was her number. I text it every year, but it seems as though there is finally someone on the other end. It wasn’t my intention to bother you, so, again, apologies.
Well, that took a turn.

It is true that foxians often have a better sense of smell, just as it is true that Jiaoqiu has one that is several times more sensitive than the average foxian. It allows him to detect scents that ordinary people wouldn’t be able to pick up on. Scents such as arousal.
