Summary
A few months after the boys return from the States and have fallen back into their normal case-solving ventures, they haven't had to deal with any cases involving Witches. This changes, though, when a client needs them to retrieve a spell book for her from one. Edwin and Charles feel a little apprehensive at first, given their past dealings with Esther, but they take it anyway. They believe the case to be pretty straightforward until pushed-down feelings and memories threaten to get in the way.

Charles is still trying to figure things out after Edwin's confession in Hell, and a case with a witch forces him to confront that and his past traumas.

They’ve been working it out slowly in the two months since that awful night—it being something romantic, something that’s quite frankly more than dating, yet not all that different in shape from what existed before.
Point is, as much as Charles loves Crystal, a little time just for him and Edwin had sounded…nice. And probably needed. Except now she won’t be back until Thursday.
Which is fine. Totally fine. No outside rescue just means that they have to save themselves, that they have to figure this out solo—the two of them against the world, just like old times.
Nothing ever went wrong back then.

Summary
After being exposed to toxic spores, Charles is forced to visit a special health resort with medicinal waters to cure the after-effects. For most people, a short vacation to a spa would be great, but not for someone with aquaphobia who died of hypothermia in a lake. Thankfully, Edwin is with him to make things better, despite all the misunderstandings that might occur:
"I know you’re in love with me, but that doesn’t mean you’ve got any excuse to strip me.”
Edwin’s hands froze, and his entire body went rigid with shock. Even before Charles could realize the magnitude of his mistake, Edwin’s hands immediately pulled away as though he had been burned. The older boy’s face reflected a mix of fear and hurt.
Oh Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I bark out a surprised laugh. “Me neither, honestly.” I was never really sure where Percy stood on stuff like that. He’s never told me about liking anyone, boy or girl. I wasn’t sure if Percy liked guys but I guess I always expected him to because him having a girlfriend surprises more than I would like to admit. And it freaks me out. A little. I thought that maybe if Percy likes guys, I would have a chance but if he’s straight…
I want to know what I did to deserve falling in love with my straight best friend.
Monty has been in love with his best friend for some time now. Though he isn't sure where Percy stands on things like that, he's been holding out hope that someday he and Percy can be together. But those hopes are dashed when Percy gets a girlfriend and doesn't even tell Monty.
