Julie laughed, then readjusted her position so that she was lying on her belly, ankles hooked behind her. “And where is that powerful, thundering engine taking us?”
Verso was grinning wide now. Was it the wine? The late hour? Just having Julie with him in his childhood bedroom? Looking at her now, he saw the little girl she had been once: freckled and rosy-cheeked, her blonde hair burnished by long afternoons under the sun.
He sent the toy train wheeling along the curve of the track, towards the books piled up high on the floor, white pages stacked in an approximation of snowy peaks.
“To the Grandis Mountains,” he answered.
Julie and Verso enjoy a train ride to the Frozen Hearts, and make the most of it when their ski day takes an unexpected turn.

Written for a prompt on tumblr, where Reader character has been turned into a vampire during Alucard's absence. This can be considered a follow-up of sorts set after To be free , but can be read as a standalone as well.
The murder of Lisa never happened. Instead, sometime in the future there is strife in the vampire world with an alliance of rebelling war chiefs over territory and Dracula is forced to respond. Reader character is an apprentice learning the doctor trade under Lisa. Trying to seek Adrian out after he left for battle was not a successful endeavor…

“Oh, gods forbid they respond positively to you doing a good thing,” Neve deadpans. She squeezes him a little again. “That’s sort of how it works, Astarion.”
She can’t even see it. Believes the best of them all so earnestly, himself included, that she can’t see how it would all fall away without her at the center. It’s enough to make a person feel like they might actually deserve it.
“And by it, you mean…?” he asks instead.
Her huffed laugh of disbelief ruffles the hair at his neck. “Friendship, you idiot,” she answers. “And the general acquisition thereof.”
Astarion cuts a sideways look at her as best he can with her still nestled so close. “And is that what we are? Friends?”
He’d meant it to tease her, and yet finds that the silence before her answer twists his stomach. Because…he doesn’t actually know, either.
“Yes, Astarion,” Neve says gently, after a moment. “I think we’re very good friends.”

Two weeks of political talks, cultural immersion and utter harmony. As Fire Lord, Zuko is in charge of hosting the first, set in the Fire Nation capital. As war-heroes, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Suki and of course Aang are among the guests.
However, as Katara finds herself yearning for a life beyond that of the Avatar's faithful companion, it appears that politics will not be the only turbulent waters they have to navigate.
