Suddenly, Draco has an unwanted second chance, with a Sorting Hat that doesn't know what to do with him, a certain Muggleborn who won't leave his study table alone, and green eyes he just can't get out of his head. And then there's his new wand, whose choice of him could just mark him as every bit as dark a wizard as his name means he should be.

Summary
As part of his penance program after the war, Draco returns to Hogwarts to retake seventh year. The Ministry is not at all kind (why would they be), his professors seem to both loathe and pity him, he's anxious all the time, and Harry Potter will always be a thorn in his side. Even if Potter is pretty okay at tutoring. Honestly, Harry is just trying to not make things worse.

Even if Grimmauld Place suffocates him, the people around him are moving on with their life – leaving him behind, to pick up the pieces of the past alone – and what was once his dream job is losing its appeal day after day. But he's still in a better situation than Malfoy. And he deserves it, a little, after all. Doesn’t he?
"Merlin, Potter," Malfoy murmurs, with eyes so damp they seem about to overflow at any moment. "Remind me not to come crying on your shoulder anymore, I feel even worse than before."

Harry didn’t exactly expect to see Draco Malfoy return for his last year of education at Hogwarts, and he wouldn’t mind it either, if he was allowed to keep a fair distance from the cocky sod. Unfortunately for him, McGonagall has gotten it to her head that the school’s future lies in inter-house cooperation, and she has implemented some interesting – or completely mental, if Harry’s concerned – changes at Hogwarts. While Harry struggles to adjust to his new roommates and his difficult new tutor who keeps calling him ‘scarhead’, it dawns on him that passing his N.E.W.T.s isn’t going to be the cakewalk he expected. It certainly doesn’t help that Malfoy’s all grown up now, and his soft hair and occasional smiles make Harry’s knees turn into jelly. Will their rivalry stir the cauldron or brew into something else entirely?
