Peter looks to the side and watches two robots destroy another building. There is a large hole that makes the apartment unsteady at its base.
“Don’t you think that’s a little dramatic?”
“Fine, we’ll compromise. Find me if there are any bad injuries. FRIDAY will report your vitals so I’ll know if you’re avoiding me. Make this easier for the both of us.”
There’s a loud crash that follows with screams of terror. He hears a child crying a few blocks away.
They’re wasting time.

Peter flinches at the sound. He’s never had a visitor.
Since the world had forgotten who Peter Parker was, he’s been living in an apartment that was the size of a shoebox. It has everything he needs: a stove, running water, a heater that works 60% of the time. It gets the job done.
Yet, he has never had someone knock on the door. He stands cautiously and focuses on any sounds that he hears. There is one familiar heartbeat.
Peter shakes his head, recognizing the paranoia that plagues him. He tries to convince himself that nothing is wrong, that he is safe. It’s why he does not check the peephole before opening the door.
Tony Stark stands at the other side.

“I get it, you’re starstruck- not sure how to handle yourself.”
“Excuse me,” Peter begins to defend himself but he's blatantly ignored as Tony talks over him.
“Look, I promise to take a picture with you when all of this is over, I’ll even offer you an autograph- but first I need any information you know that can get us out of here.”
Peter is completely lost, but at the same time he isn’t. He already knows the answer when he asks his next question.
“Mister Stark, do you know who I am?”Tony gives a baffled look in return, “have we met before?”
And that was all the confirmation Peter needed. He feels his heart drop to his stomach as the realization strikes him, and he’s certain that he’s gone pale in the face.
Tony doesn’t remember him.

When Tony’s phone goes off in the middle the night, he initially ignores it.
He’s seconds away from falling back asleep when it rings for a second time. Pepper lazily nudges his shoulder as a silent demand to answer it. While Tony groans in response, he still picks it up.
“What do you want?”
Tony doesn’t bother to look at the caller ID as he presses the phone to his ear, but once he hears heart wrenching sobs from the other end of the line, he immediately sits up from the bed, no longer tired. If Pepper notices his sudden burst of energy, she doesn’t comment on it.
