Summary
Nobody came to the Wolf King’s Court because they wanted to. It was a place of last resort, one you could only find when you had nowhere else to go.
The Wolf’s Court promised nine tenths death, and one slim chance at glory.

Mack’s physicality was a frequency Seth’s body had become attuned to. Mack didn’t even have to touch him to move him—but he did.
He did touch Seth, all the time.

Summary
Jax was ready.
He was more than ready. His spine wanted to curve, his knees wanted to fold; he wanted to press his face down close to the cold hard ground and inhale. He needed to chase. He wanted to own. Wanted to run down his prize and bite until his teeth found bloody sinew and bone.

Summary
“You said you know how this works,” Kyrou interrupts him, not a trace of impatience in his voice but still with that one eyebrow raised. Almost looking pleased with himself. “So you can either do what I say, when I say it, or we can have ourselves a little tussle about it.”
Fik hesitates, “A tussle?”
Kyrou’s grin widens, rut-hungry at the edges. “You gonna make me twist your arm?”

Summary
Threkeld, Scandinavia, 730 A.D.
One story told again and again.⌘⌘⌘
Varr looked away, out towards the cliffs. The great mountains that spread out in the distance, a series of sharp, uneven peaks. Varr often liked to think that the Gods themselves might have knelt under the earth, heaving it on their shoulders to shape its imperfections. The lowest peaks curled protectively over the squat sod rooftops of Threkeld’s main square, a town nestled safely at the giant’s feet.

Summary
"Setting aside the obvious," Laurent says, "I feel I should point out that the last time we met, you told me I was beautiful, and then couldn't think of a single other good quality I possessed."
The corner of Damen's mouth twitches. He looks dangerous, and bright, and appalling.
"I can think of a few things now," he says.
