Summary
As a Guild hunter, Din has become accustomed to relying on intel from information brokers to plan his hunts; the same is still true now that he’s working as an independent contractor to eliminate Imperial Remnants. After a string of touch-and-go missions where he barely escapes with his life, his enemy-turned-ally Migs Mayfeld turns up to warn Din that he’s being intentionally fed false information, and that someone—possibly within the New Republic—wants him dead.
As they had on Morak, the two must disguise themselves once again to infiltrate Imperial Remnant strongholds and seek out the truth. Along the way, Din develops complex feelings for the man who is able to slip back into his old uniform with such apparent ease—and hopes his trust in Migs is not misplaced.

After months of longing looks and wishful sighs, Bofur had had enough. He knew. He knew that Bilbo and Thorin liked each other. He was pretty sure everyone in the office knew except for Bilbo and Thorin. And honestly, he was doing everyone a public service by taking on the task of getting them to talk. Their behavior was ridiculous and downright pitiful. The holidays were coming. It was a time of cheer not angst, which was all those two pushed on everyone anytime they were near each other.
And the holidays were the perfect excuse that he needed to put his plan into motion. If a chance was all they needed to get together then Bofur was going to make sure they got as many as possible.

Nai’o hates Reth. Reth didn’t have strong feelings about Nai’o, really. But after a steamy storeroom encounter, his opinion changes. For the worse.

Crowley had been an angel, once. He remembered the pomp and circumstance of it all, how his fellow angels would damn near lose their minds trying to make sure that every little thing was absolutely perfect, to the letter. It had all seemed so silly back then, back when Crowley had gone by a different name and had woven galaxies and stars into nebulas across the cosmos. He’d rolled his eyes at it all, but he’d always secretly wondered what it would be like, to find someone that made all that fuss seem worth it.
That was before the Fall, and the Garden, and a wall where a swordless angel asked his first question and shielded a demon from the rain.
Crowley knew that if he was going to win the Principality’s heart, he was going to have to do it the old fashioned way.
