Shane swallows, mouth thick with saliva. Still, Ilya’s hands roamed up and down his legs, never quite reaching, not quite good enough.
“I can do it,” he says.

“Maybe,” Ilya taunts with a slow roll of his hips, “I invite the press up here? Let them take their pictures. Show the world how needy Hollander is.”

“Breathe,” she sighs quietly, and so he does.
They stand in Thaisha Lloy’s kitchen, a Lady and her Knight, in a stunning embrace, and for a moment they are simply childhood friends – equals in every sense of the word.

It had been four years since Gale Cleven had found one “Bucky” Egan almost bleeding to death in his stables, and life had been far better for it.
The town of Lemmon welcomed their new Deputy sincerely, a pleasant change to the lawman who had come before him, and Bucky had responded to their acceptance with pleasing smiles and endearing quips. Even brothers, Crosby and Bubbles, had started to fear him less, and like him more. John had slipped into Gale’s world and knocked it out of orbit, into a kinder, softer galaxy.

“Bucky home yet?” He asks carefully. “I ain’t seen him.”
All Gale can do is shake his head, dread building in his lungs. In his peripheral, Curt stands up.
“He okay?” Curt asks.
“Course he is,” Gale snaps, and then regrets it. He says, softer, “when you known him not to be okay?”

Bob shakes his head. “I don’t think I’m supposed to be strong.”
“Then it is good thing you have friends who are,” Alexei says warmly. “They’ll protect you. We will. зуб даю."
He stares at Bob so intently he fears he might frighten the man, but Bob doesn’t shy away from his gaze. Instead, he looks right on back, like he was hanging on every word.
“Besides,” Alexei goes on, “there are important things beside strength. You are kind, and sensitive, and only one in whole place who knows how to clean dishes.”
Bob laughs wetly, and that was really all Alexei wanted.

"I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.
A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

During the summer of 1943, Caitlyn rescues US Air Force pilot Violet McAdams from a plane wreck in the French country side, and decides to hide her on her farm to allow her wounds to heal properly.
