Summary
“The fuck?” Ed manages, instantly getting his foot stuck in a nearby bucket.
“Sh-shh!” Stede pushes two fingers against his lips to shut him up.
Ed goes still and a bit cross-eyed, staring down at the hand on his mouth. Stede moves it away, with a mouthed “sorry!” focusing intently on the sounds outside the shed instead.
In the alley, hurried steps and shouting voices rush past; they catch fragments of: “Where the fuck did they go then?” or “Keep looking!” and even “The short one looks like a bloody birthday cake, how do you lose that—”

'“Look I understand, you’ve got to check up on the new occupants, make sure I’m a proper ‘fit’ for the neighborhood or whatever euphemism you’re going to use this time, 'the greater good,' I saw the film, I get it. But I peeked in at the place next door the agent mentioned and if you aren’t bothering him I really don't think you should be-”
“I’m your neighbor,” Aziraphale interrupted. “I own that place next door?”
“Oh.”'
Since the next shop over closed down, Aziraphale's had a peaceful few months, barring those unpleasant interactions with the men in cheap suits who keep trying to persuade him to sell his shop. But now a (handsome) new owner has taken up residence beside him and, horror of horrors, he wants to open up a coffee shop.

a truly delightful au, which was not a genre (is that the right word?) of good omens fic i was expecting to enjoy, but have been pleasantly proven incorrect. nonetheless, this is incredibly sweet and incredibly well written.
i must say i thoroughly enjoy some nicely integrated footnotes as well, and soft_october delivers :^)

Summary
Humans. Their affections fester into madness and burn out like matches. Only those lucky enough to love someone that acts as their kerosene find it to be everlasting. Crowley may favor a fast-paced life, but humans are always in a dead-sprint to marry their soul-mate. Well, when one’s life expectancy is so short it does make a good deal of sense.
Crowley isn’t human, and he is blessed (no pun intended. Seriously, he’s a demon) to not have been created as one. The perks of immortality and corrupted divinity are far too enjoyable. But he must admit he’s grown soft. Soft for one peckish angel in particular, and to partake in more human traditions.
In which Crowley can't handle another 6000 years of pining and Aziraphale is very much himself.

Summary
After everything, Aziraphale and Crowley, by unspoken agreement, begin sharing their lives.
---
Why? Aziraphale wanted to ask him, why millennia of the way things were, and now this? But while Crowley seemed to have little issue upending every unspoken rule they’d ever written for themselves, Aziraphale was not so flexible, and they had spent thousands of years never quite addressing whatever it was this had stemmed from. Words, Aziraphale had always felt, were for bickering about where to eat for lunch, or hashing out ontological debates, or other trivial nonsense; there was no need to trifle with the imprecision of language, with phrasing and the possibility of being misconstrued, when it came to important matters if the other person simply understood, without needing it said. Six thousand years ago, when Aziraphale had met Crowley on the wall of Eden, watching the first two humans set out to begin the rest of history, something deep within him, more central even than his Grace, had thought, oh, it’s you, and that had been enough for him--for both of them, he assumed--for three millennia.
However much he wanted to ask, he didn’t know how. The words simply weren’t there.

biiitch oh my g-ddddddd. this is so sweet, and it feels like my teeth are about to fall out of my head. i haven't brushed my teeth today, though, so that is probably contributing in some way or another. whatever. it's a lovely story, and the title comes from one of my favorite mistki songs so this would probably get bookmarked even if it wasn't as good as it is. but it is that good, so this fic has earned a place in my hall of fame.
the moral of the story is that bitches be repressed enough to not declare affection for one another for several millenia.

Summary
Anthony J. Crowley's life seems like it's finally falling into place: his floral shop has begun to gain an undercurrent of appreciation in the design elite of London, and he might have even finally found a boyfriend who looks just right lounging on his Tenreiro sofa. Things seem almost perfect, until one day the empty shop across the street is leased to frumpy fellow Oxford alumni, who doesn't seem to remember Crowley nearly as well as he remembers him, which really shouldn't bother him as much as it does - it was ten years ago after all, and it wasn't even that good of a kiss.

this shit was sooo [insert fire emoji here because i'm using my laptop right now]. literally so worth the read and SO fucking good.
anyway i read this all in one sitting and it flows incredibly well that way, so if you have a few hours to spare, READ THIS.
spoiler alert: crowley thinks its sexy when aziraphale curses, and who am i to blame him? i mean, not to get too TMI, but i may have almost jacked it to the 2-second clip of crowley saying "we're fucked" in episode 6. to be fair, though, i had smoked a fat jazz cigarette at the beginning of the episode. its really late and i'm very tired so i won't even delete this confession from my recommendation.
enjoy!

Summary
The demon raises an eyebrow in an unnaturally perfect arch. "Not really my purview, is it, confession?"
"You'll think it's funny. Well, you might." The corners of his mouth turn up, nervously, though there's that look in his eyes - a combination of warmth and weight that tugged at Crowley even before he knew what it meant. He's still not sure what to do with it, even after all this time.
"Angel," he begins, "you don't have to-"
"For the longest time, you see, I worried it was a - I think it's called a long game."
Aziraphale doesn't feel guilty, for once, but has some things to confess.
Crowley doesn't think he has guilt, and doesn't plan to confess anything. On both counts, he's wrong.
