“Yeah,” Duck laughs, “I just… We gotta put a pause on this, man. That abomination’s out there and I need to get back to –” He’s cut off by Indrid’s mouth on his again. This time he feels a flutter of unease in his chest. Indrid is acting strange.
Most people interrupt Duck during his disfluencies, trying to finish his sentence for him or change the subject. But ever since Duck told him about his discomfort with that, Indrid waits patiently for him to finish his scattered thoughts, head tilted to the side and expression soft. It isn’t like him to interrupt. And even though it’s really nice to finally kiss his crush, something doesn’t feel right.
And then the Mothman crashes through Duck’s living room window.

“We might die here,” Zolf deadpans, staring up at the ceiling. At his side, Azu hums in agreement. His head is resting on her shoulder, and the blankets have tangled around both of their legs in a way that isn’t uncomfortable yet, but could be getting there soon.
“Hamid and Sasha are going to come home and we’re both going to have wasted away. Legally unable to stand, what a sad way to go,” Azu murmurs, scritching Figgis begins the ears as he purrs contentedly on her lap. Frog’s tail thumps against the place where Zolf’s prosthetic meets his thigh, and Zolf absently pats her side.

If it had just been shirts and the occasional hoodie, it wouldn’t have been an issue, Hamid thinks. Maybe even a few pair of socks here and there, few enough and small enough so that Hamid could easily hide them away when he noticed it. But recently, Zolf’s stuff has found a second home in Hamid’s room, ranging from hoodies to the prosthetic socks he uses, strewn about the floor (or, more often, tucked away as best as Hamid can do in the drawers of his wardrobe).
