She waits for the surprise on his face. Waits for the recognition to sink in. The delight, maybe? That brows-lifted-mouth-open kind of tilted smile he used to sport a lot back in the day.
But none of it comes. Seojun’s hands are in his pockets and he’s blinking at her like she’s an obstacle in his way. Then he says, “Hi.”

It was ridiculous that out of all of Soo-hyun’s numerous problems, Yeo Jun had climbed to the top of the list. There was a file in his head where he catalogued all of his constraints, where he went through the mental gymnastics of trying to figure out how to use the little money he had to provide for his family, how to juggle his endless part-time jobs and class schedules. It was border-line insulting that suddenly a file that was already overwhelming enough had a new addition. Yeo Jun’s name was constantly flashing in his head in bright neon red. It was a matter that needed tending to and the more Soo-hyun ignored it, the more it persisted.
