Summary
Six students at Taharim, found dead in their dorms in half as many months, overdosed on the same previously unknown drug found on the bodies of rescued sky-walkers. All evidence points to a Grysk plot to destroy the Ascendancy from within. Senior Captain Thrawn and Mid Commander Eli Vanto go undercover at Taharim Academy to root out this conspiracy. What they find may have far reaching consequences, both for themselves, and for the Ascendancy.
The 21 Jump Street inspired Thranto fic no one asked for, but I wrote anyways.

The excuse goes over about as well as he expected. “Your inquisitive nature suggests it is instead the desire to eavesdrop that keeps you from returning to your quarters.”
“Can you blame me?” He gestures at the two of them. Since it’s pointless to deny it, he might as well confront honesty with honesty. “You’re not usually like…” he can’t exactly describe how Thrawn is acting. It’s not out of character, it’s just… more.
“Am I not allowed the comfort of an old friend?” Thrawn asks. His tone betrays his impatience, edged as it is with a rare hint of irritation.

One of his hands comes up to support himself in the wall; he leans heavily against it. His entire body is lit up in infrared, screaming in agony. This is a man torn to shreds by a violent crash, body and mind; this is a man discarded by his people, a man who has failed those who trusted him, a man who has even failed himself.
What, in truth, is he not running from? Wouldn’t anyone run, in his position?
He doesn’t answer as he slips behind the door, and that’s a kind of running away, too.

And, also, Chiss Ambassador Eli'van'to starts dating galaxy-renowned popstar Tay'lors'wift. In case life wasn't weird enough already, especially when you're a freshly rescued war criminal who honestly doesn't know what to do with yourself with no wars to do crimes in.

Hammerly benevolently pulls Faro’s tray away so that her short hair doesn’t get into her veg-mash.
“The good news is that the mess is mostly empty, and he doesn’t speak loudly enough for words to carry,” Hammerly offers.
“The fact that you say good news,” Faro mutters to the tabletop, “Suggests that there is also bad news.”
“Well, yes. Thrawn wasn’t angry—I’ve never seen him angry, honestly. The problem is that he used what we’ll call his ‘linguistically stumped’ tone when saying the words caf runner, which means he’s probably going to ask Vanto for the deeper ‘translation,’” She provides helpfully. “The bigger problem is that Vanto will almost definitely ask for context and Thrawn will repeat our entire conversation verbatim.”

And at each repeat, they rotate ninety degrees and do it again. Eventually, they’ll make their way back around.”
“I see,” Thrawn noted.
The song changed and Eli’s eyes widened, eagerly slurping up the rest of his drink and leaving the glass on a ledge as he grabbed the sleeve of Thrawn’s jacket. “This is a great one to start with – it's super straightforward and the song is really popular, they’ll probably play it again even tonight. C’mon!”
