Steven Quartz Universe is not a little kid anymore--he can drive, he's saved the galaxy (more than once), and he's a vegetarian now! He's doing absolutely fine, completely and totally fine.
He doesn't have time to be a little kid anymore, there are school schedules to be made and planets to decolonize, there's no time to stop. He's doing absolutely fine, completely and totally fine.
He's fine with being busy, he really is.
But when he's suddenly back in a time when the name 'Steven Universe' didn't mean much at all, maybe he can learn how to be more than fine again.

Summary
As the official rival of the other, Berdly was expected to know a lot about the human. And he played that part spectacularly! What they found humorful, what got under their skin. Their favorite foods, and what they would refuse to eat. How they stood and how they walked. Their mains in Super Smashing Fighters, their favorite and least favorite biomes in Minecrap. Berdly could name any of it. He had to know it, if he wanted to fiercely compete and effectively irritate them.
And the way Kris was standing, completely straight rather than having a slouch. The way they stepped into the classroom, as if unfamiliar to using legs. How their neck turned and glanced around the room, as if they had never stepped foot in this room before in their life.
It was nothing like Kris.
Or: Berdly, somehow, puts together Kris' SOUL situation. And sort of figures out his feelings for the human in the process.

Summary
It's been exactly a year since Weirdmageddon, and the Pines twins are back in Gravity Falls, where things have largely remained unchanged. The town is still bonkers, weirdness still abounds, and the shack is still the shack. However, with the Northwest Family in tatters, and Preston driven to overwhelming desperation, it's Pacifica Northwest where the wildcard lays - sparking off an awkward romance with Dipper Pines, and a tale of redemption for the heir to the fortune.
Under the watchful eye of their Grunkles and the new Mr. Mystery, the twins discover there's much that still lies in the town and its crooked history.
With swashbuckling action, awkward romances, and tender moments combined, Return to the Falls is an attempt to recapture the tone of 'Gravity Falls' - no major character deaths, no ridiculous over the top drama, no nine-hundred part series - just a group of continuous 'episodes' expanding on the lore and Gravity Falls concepts largely untouched.
Each 'episode' will be accompanied by title cards and a short comic strip or two, to bring about the ultimate level of Hirsch-style weirdness.
