What was this fool doing? The fallen god pulled at the chains binding him, scowling and trying to free one hand so he could strike the traitor. "What is the meaning of this, heretic?"
"I did this for you. You're under my protection now. No one would ever think of hurting you now that you're mine." The Lamb bent down in front of him and stroked his cheek.
He felt as though he was going to vomit. "Traitorous wretch! Do you think I would ever be yours? To usurp a god-" The Lamb laughed. "No, no. I made sure that you would always be mine. Now I own you, body and soul." They leaned forward to press their lips on the top of his head.
The One Who Waits immediately retched. "You coward! How dare you!" As he struggled in his binds, the Lamb turned to the crowd once more.
"Behold, my husband, Narinder."
