Summary
Turtle brothers Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo just got used to being a team again when Splinter shakes things up by making Leo the new leader without warning. They need to learn how to deal with the changing dynamics of their team, family, and their ever-evolving powers as old threats get stronger, relationships are tested, and their wacky misadventures get wackier and more TV-13 instead of TV-Y7.
(A fan-centric passion project that takes place right where Season 2 ended and will finish before the ROTTMNT movie, which will also be rewritten as a continuation of this project. There are 34 episodes with 4 mini-sodes.)
Updates with a new episode every Monday and Friday until completed.

“What? Says you. I have a phenomenal immune system!”
“What?” Leo laughed, “you who was the first to catch chicken pox?”
Raph sat up with an evil glint. “Says the guy who gagged over Donnie getting in the way of my sai!”

It was a totally normal mission until Mikey is knocked out cold. And unfortunately, Leo is too much of a mother hen to notice that he also is gravely injured....
"Leo almost bit through his tongue at the sudden jolt of pain. Oh yeah, he forgot that he had also been slammed into the same wall. He’d surely be feeling sore for the next couple of days. Despite the violent slow shudder along his shell, he let himself hug his baby brother tight."

Summary
Mikey always liked this part of their patrols, when they would stay out just long enough to catch a glimpse of those vibrant colors. His eyes would be glued to the skyline where they should’ve been glued to the roof in front of them as they leaped across buildings. He would stumble and laugh when he jumped wrong while distracted, let his brothers gripe and moan about how ninja don’t watch sunrises, but his eyes would always drift back to that gorgeous view.
Not tonight, though. As much as he would love to watch the horizon, his head was killing him, and it took all of his concentration just to keep his legs moving as he and his brothers sprinted from building to building.
Or: Mikey gets sick.

After Splinter is murdered by Shredder, his sons are left to pick up the pieces of their broken family. Leo does his best to keep his brothers together, all while insisting that he’s fine and coping in a Perfectly Healthy Way. He absolutely does not get shot, have a mental breakdown, and work himself to the point of illness.
Really, he’s fine. It’s nothing some pancakes and brotherly hugs can’t fix, right?
Donnie is pretty sure he’s lost ten years off his life from stress at this point.

Think of it as a sort of medical comedy. But with mutant teenage turtle ninjas. And a dash of hurt/comfort.

There was a noticeable disconnect between his mind and his body, Donatello had found. Immediate and sudden changes, such as injury or nausea, he could recognize, diagnose, and deal with immediately, but slower creeping effects like hunger, thirst, exhaustion, and the tendrils of a headache-turning-migraine constantly eluded him.
That is, they eluded him until they had become all consuming and he had to manage the consequences before he could deal with them.
