    Summary

    Michael.

He said his name way too often. That was the real problem. It was tacked on to the end of sentences that really didn’t need it, like when it was clear that Michael was who David was talking to. It was a game David liked to play that Michael hadn’t figured out the rules to yet.

Or, David’s playing games with Michael, and Micahel thinks he really wants to win one.

    Summary

Michael Emerson thinks David wants Star. He thinks the smirks, the taunts, the dares, and the blood are all part of some cruel game meant to make him jealous enough to lose control.

    He is wrong.

Star was never the prize. She was the hook.

David has been watching Michael since the boardwalk, studying every flash of anger, every protective instinct, every reckless step toward the edge. By the time Michael realizes David barely looks at Star when Michael is in the room, he has already drunk too deeply, fallen too far, and given David exactly what he wanted: a reason to believe Michael might choose the dark willingly.

Now Michael has to face the truth of David’s attention.
And David is done pretending it was ever about anyone else.

    Summary

    ABSTRACT

With four of the best current NHL players officially out as gay or bisexual, fans and critics alike have speculated on a possible link between homosexuality and hockey skill. Using points per game data and a comparison of gay and straight players’ statistics, this study reimagines a popular P/PG prediction model to measure a potential “queer effect.” While limited by its small sample size, it found evidence that suggests queer players may be more naturally skilled at hockey and discusses popular theories regarding why.
Keywords: Ice hockey, professional sports, homosexuality

(Literally, this is a research paper. 41-citation bibliography, 33 pages double-spaced 12-point Times New Roman, three appendices with further exploration into the data sources and math. Everything except the gay NHL players is real.)
