A creature, huh? Dean groans internally. They do sometimes get offered some exotic animal or other, usually a parrot, lizard, or monkey. Always means at least a two day journey to set the poor thing free. Once, it was just a kitten. Now it spends its days lazing on deck, eating through their supply of fish, and hissing at Dean.
He hopes it’s not another fucking kitten.
They draw to a stop outside the captain’s bunk, and he throws the door open.
That’s not a kitten.

Summary
Dean is the proud and happy owner of Ramble On, a coffeeshop that he built and now runs with the help of two of his best friends. Bit too popular with the hipster crowd maybe, but if they like his coffee and his tunes, then they can't be all bad. They also don't complain when he serves them hungover, which, score.
Castiel works for Heaven, a corporate line of coffeeshops that all look identical, sound identical, and make coffee so terrible that he's surprised God himself hasn't popped down to say, "really?" He's stuck there though. Which he could cope with, if not for the locals who are all completely insane, including the furious proprietor who just happens to be right across the road.

Summary
Castiel Shurley doesn’t understand why an engineering major keeps showing up in his upper-level creative writing classes. He knows part of having a liberal arts education is taking things outside of your major, but who takes 400-level English courses for fun? And even more galling, his classmates keep gushing about his short stories. You would think Dean Winchester is the next Isaac Asimov.
Then Castiel finally gets assigned to peer edit one of Dean’s short stories… and he recognizes it. To be fair, it’s a great story. Too bad Dean didn’t write it. He stole it, lifted straight from a fanfic, with the serial numbers barely filed off.

Summary

Summary
Growing up Dean’s life was completely normal.
Oh… apart from the fact that he can see ghosts.
Dean has known Cas for 26 years, since he was just four years old. What started out as a platonic relationship, with Cas being Dean’s friendly neighbourhood “mentor ghost”, began to evolve when Dean entered college and he realised he was in love with the ghost that haunted him.
Problem? Cas still sees Dean as the four year old who had always been able to see him. And when Dean finally confesses his feelings, Cas is unable to reciprocate them.

Dean Winchester was always destined for the Olympics. Granted, his dad had hoped for a traditionally masculine sport, but as figure skating goes, Dean lifting and twirling a (female) partner across the ice is as close as it gets.
