Summary
Prince Aleksandr of Arcardia knows he got lucky when he married Quinhart Starfall, the Sun-King of Scorin, as part of the treaty that ended the war between their countries. A year into their marriage, he has a husband who loves him, a stepson who adores him, and precisely no assassinations attempts. Compared to that, trying to make it through the hectic preparations for the equinox festival seems like a small price to pay for happiness.
Then word comes from the northern border that Prince Matalith Greentide has emerged from an enchanted forest, two years after he was thought killed in a daring raid that turned the tide of the war. The return of the moon's paladin and his company is a cause for national celebration. There's one small problem for Alek, though: before his apparent demise, Matalith was Quin's first husband.

Summary
“Our sky pirate becomes a soft touch, it seems,” Fran says, with a smile. “Who would have thought it.”
“I’m not the one offering to teach gutter-churls how to read,” Balthier points out, perhaps a touch too loud.
“You’re going to teach us how to read?” Vaan asks, and he’s looking at Balthier as he says it.
“No,” Balthier says, with a shake of his head, “Fran is.”

I'm sure given your position you already know about the advent of the General Data Protection Regulation next year, wrote Peter Lukas, to Elias Bouchard. However, the Lukas family wishes to be crystal clear that our continued investment is contingent upon the Institute taking its responsibilities with regards to privacy and confidentiality seriously.
The Magnus Institute hires a Data Protection Officer. He sets about diligently booking in meetings, writing policy documents, and training all the staff in the importance of confidentiality. Now if only he could get hold of the Head Archivist, who seems to have vanished again...
(Jon is only trying to save the world, but apparently some people think he should still be doing his day job.)

Summary
The arena’s packed.
Commander Ozen, the arena master himself, stands tall between the four towers, armor glinting dark under the light pounding down on them both. The two furred ridges on his skull are bristling with excitement, and there’s a smug, vicious light in his eyes. He flexes his claws, plants his long legs firm.
Hunk steps through the opposite door, small in the vast steel mouth of the blood-sands, and the crowd screams with death in its teeth.
