“That’s a wedding ring, isn’t it?” Pidge realizes somewhere behind Keith once Lance is safely placed in the pod.
“Mm,” Keith responds without words. The ring is cold against his palm. It’ll be well over a day until Keith can hear Lance’s voice again. But he’ll be healed and whole, and if he needed to take weeks for the same outcome, Keith would gladly wait.
“When the hell did Lance get married—who the hell did he marry?”
“Pidge,” Hunk stops their ramblings and Keith has never been more grateful. “I think that one is obvious.”
(Or Keith and Lance have been secretly married for months and this is how the team finds out)

“Not—not that you’d be my rebound! I mean, you’d be helping me take my mind off of this guy, but to be a rebound, I’d have to have dated him first, I think, and he doesn’t even know I like him, so. You wouldn’t be a rebound. At worst, we become badass partners-in-crime with a grudging respect for each other, at best, we’re soulmates for life and this is fate trying to help us find happiness. So. Um.” Lance swallows and looks up at the Blade of Marmora soldier through his lashes. “What say you?”
They look down at their hands for a moment, fingers twisting together in deep thought. Then they’re pulling their gloves off, revealing pale, half-bruised knuckles of the human variation, and their mask is dissolving, giving way to big blue-purple eyes and an achingly familiar jet-black cowlick. “Who,” says Keith Kogane, in that low-pitched rumble that makes Lance’s stomach roil in the good way—holy fuck—“is this guy you’re trying to get over?”

Summary
“No, it’s not that –” Keith tries to backtrack. “We just – we –” he isn’t sure what he’s going to say, he just knows he has to say something before he and Lance are forced to have sex with some weird alien species, while also keeping the weird alien king happy enough to create an alliance with them.
But not for the first time and not for the last, Lance pulls through.
Of course, this time pulling through almost gives Keith a heart attack, because Lance slips his fingers through Keith’s so that they’re holding hands.
“What Keith here means to say,” Lance says, and although his voice is steady, he is gripping Keith’s fingers so tightly it’s painful. “Is that we can’t mate with your people, although we, um, appreciate the offer, because, well. We already are. M-mated, I mean. With, you know. Each other.”

Summary

"I came to bid you goodbye," Lance says softly. There's a hint of sadness in his tone, a hesitancy.
It's then that Keith notices he wears his chain mail and riding boots, his long blue surcoat that bears his coat of arms. Keith's stomach swoops with unpleasant surprise. "You go to war?" The rain is forgotten now. "As your hostage, what will you do with me?" Keith asks.
"I wish we could be equal in this," Lance says bitterly. "I wish that we were lo-"
"Hush," Keith says, placing a finger gently over his lips and stilling his words. He's never dared venture this close, for fear of getting what he truly desires. "Save those words for when this is over and you come back to me. Consider those words a reward," he whispers huskily.England, 1140. It is the Anarchy - King Stephen has wrested the crown from Matilda, the rightful heir. There is now civil war. Lance, Lord Lovett, fights for Stephen, and Keith fights for Matilda. That weird look comes over her again. She’s staring right at Lance.

Summary
The doctor had peeled back the blankets and bandages; the burns looked no better than the first day, and the gut wound, stitched up as it had been, burned bright red and swollen. Those were the only spots of colour on Keith—aside from the flush of fever, contrasting against the unnaturally grey paleness of his sweaty skin.
He looked inches from death of a slow, burning kind.
The slower, the better. For all that it meant more suffering for Keith, that suffering would buy Lance time to fix this.
Keith is injured, unconscious, and there’s a chance he won’t make it … More than a chance. They’ve managed to stay alive on this godforsaken prison planet for nearly eleven months, and suddenly, Lance doesn’t have his partner to rely on.
Without hesitation, without restraint, Lance will fight with everything he has to keep Keith with him. And he’ll do anything to make sure that Keith survives … Anything.

Summary
On the third day, Lance had disappeared early in the morning, and Keith found him after he’d taken a jog along the beach—Lance had climbed a tree and begun to build a small sniper’s perch for himself.
At that point, Keith had demanded he get down and sit on the beach doing nothing for at least thirty minutes.
But then he’d helped him finish it, because, well, yeah, okay, the physical labour felt satisfying, the completed perch had an awesome view, and he appreciated the practicality of higher ground.
Keith doesn’t really know what a vacation looks like for him and Lance. Peace of mind is still a work in progress. So is giving voice to the many, many different pains and aches that the both of them carry.
After time apart, they’ve found each other again, yet nothing is ever perfect, and honestly, that's probably for the best. Keith wouldn't trust perfection, especially as every drop of happiness tastes wrong in his mouth. Being on a world with no danger except what they bring within themselves could be good for the two mercenaries — though, considering who they are, complications were rather inevitable.

Summary
Lance gave up the chance to make a difference by giving up the Red Lion. He gave up his chance to be a hero. What he wants now is just to go home. He'll protect Earth and his family from the Galra as best he can when he gets there. That's his top priority now.
And sure, he stole the opportunity to make this decision from Keith, and maybe that's not fair.
But whatever. If Keith was going to make the wrong choice, Lance wasn't going to give him one.

Summary

He certainly never imagined that it would be a useful asset in team Voltron's fight against the Galra Empire. Now if he can just keep his feelings in check, they might actually have a chance at defeating Zarkon.
Needless to say, when he'd wished for a “bonding moment” with Lance, this wasn't exactly what he'd had in mind.

Summary
The next few days were filled with Lance informing everyone, multiple times, of their “new” friendship. “We’re friends now, did you hear? Keith and I are friends.” Over and over, big smile, loud voice. Looking between Keith and whoever he was telling like he expected a round of applause. Or confetti. Or a parade. What he usually got was somebody making a crack about bonding moments, which prompted a tight, put-upon sigh on Keith’s end. And Lance would look at him fondly, and Keith would have to bite his cheek to distract himself from how much he wanted Lance to lean over and kiss him.

Summary
As heir to the kingdom, Lance always thought he knew exactly what life had in store for him. That is, until a dragon kidnaps him at the age of sixteen. Suddenly his life is a lot less parties, lessons, and castles, and a hell of a lot more barren mountains, grumpy dragons, and boredom. From heir to prize, in just one night.
So now he’s stuck living in a cave with an adolescent, grumpy dragon who doesn’t seem to want him there but still won’t let him go. Not to mention his annoying habit of defeating every suitor who tries to come rescue Lance.
As much as he hates to admit it, he’s probably going to be here for a while. So he might as well settle in and get to know this dragon named Keith.

Time seems to stand still on Keith’s quiet little beach. Far from civilization, in an old cabin filled with memories, he often feels like he’s living in a bubble. A peaceful bubble, but a solitary one. While he can’t imagine living anywhere else— far too drawn to the magic of the ocean and the beauty in silence— he sometimes wishes that his home was a little less cold and a little less lonely.
Those wishes come true the day he rescues an injured sea lion on the beach. It just takes him a while to figure it out.

Summary
It was, he justifies, practically a life or death situation. It's entirely understandable that in the face of the mission stakes, he threw his whole self into it. Really into it. For the sake of believability, that's all. Life or death. Yeah.
And now, whenever death does find him, he'll go down knowing exactly what Keith's lips feel like against his; what Keith's tongue tastes like; the grip of Keith's hands on his body; the hardness of Keith's hips when Lance presses against them. Never in a million years did he think he'd ever know such things, but now he's never going to be able to un-know them. Hell, he can almost still feel the heat of Keith's hand through the fabric of these shitty uniform pants.
He almost wishes he could un-know it all, because then maybe he could forget how much he liked it.
Maybe he could even convince himself that he doesn't sort of want to do it again.
