Wild knows, he really does, that he can trust his brothers with anything — it’s not like they haven't reminded him every chance they get — but sometimes the crushing weight of gaps in his mind, of people he should recognise, places he should already know the names of, becomes so suffocating that it’s all he can do not to come undone wholly and entirely.
Those godforsaken memories.

“You’ve been… different, since you got back,” Sky whispers tentatively, opening his eyes once more. There is nothing judgemental in that gaze, but it exposes him fully. His tone is too soft for how the words open a pit inside of Wild’s stomach. “I mean, of course you would be, you’ve been away for a year. But I feel like there’s something else.”
Wild doesn’t move. No one has confronted him yet on his behaviour. The worried looks from Twilight are endless, and Time had quietly pulled him aside to offer an ear should he need it, but he had not been directly asked about what happened.
He wonders if Sky will be the first.
“Did you lose someone?”

Wild is all too experienced with physical injury. At this point, death is more of a casual acquaintance than a faceless god of endings and final goodbyes. That’s been the deal for him for a while now – suffer enough damage, get whacked into oblivion, tap a high-five with the grim reaper, then come back out still swinging.
He didn’t think dying would ever be this much of an ordeal.
