Summary
He had no way to track the time, and he’d long since given up on keeping count of the days, far too lost in the miasma of passing hours to pay it any attention till it was already impossible to recall. The only thing he had to mark the passing time solidly was his hair getting longer. It'd been cut short when he was brought here in the Springtime, and now it was nearly past his shoulders. His hair grew faster than your average as a result of the magic humming in his veins, which had gotten him into this mess. But it wasn't like breaking down, tearing his clothes, crying, or bashing into the walls was worth doing. His magic always fixed and healed everything till he looked like he'd only just stepped into the room. Only just left the warm glow of Springtime and the memory of golden wings and flower fields.
Was that the last time he'd talked to someone? Had it been days, or weeks, or months? When was the last time he'd even spoken at all?
Wasn’t much point, talking to yourself in an empty room, and Scott very much preferred to pretend he wasn’t slowly going insane, thank you.

Summary
Grian was never meant to be anyone important. That wasn’t to say that he was unattractive or stupid, he was far from it. He had just been unlucky at birth, born to two poor farmers in the midst of a winter war. If you were born a peasant, you would die one. That was just how the world worked back then.
Grian had accepted this fact shortly after he became aware of it. In his mind, there was no point in wasting time thinking about it, and he didn’t feel as though he had a particularly difficult life. After all, his childhood was spent with his four best friends in all the world.
But all good things must come to an end, and it was on the evening of Martyn’s eighteenth birthday that things started to go a bit…wrong.

Summary
The king's canary has abandoned his duty. Jimmy would argue he just quit a bad job. Either way there's a bounty on his head and a curse around his neck, and with Grian and Joel's voices ringing in his ears, Jimmy's dreams of freedom seem further out of reach by the day.
That is until he saves a blaze hybrid who, for some reason, is hellbent on returning the favor. Alone, Jimmy is pathetic. Honestly, even with Tango, Jimmy still thinks they're kind of pathetic. But with a little bit of luck they just might make it.

The guards left, slamming the door shut behind them, and Pearl felt her hair stand on end as the wards reactivated, a staticky zing traveling through her shackles and grounding in her skin.
The prisoner startled, levered himself up and hissed through his teeth. “Right, that wasn’t the smartest decision I’ve made this week,” he remarked quietly. “Scar? Are you across from me?”
Shuffling in the opposite cell. “Can you do me a favor?” a second voice asked. “The next time you threaten guards, can you try to have a weapon first to strike fear into their hearts? I think you broke our hand.”
“We have another,” the man said defensively, and Scar huffed a laugh. “And anyway– oh. There’s someone else in here with me.”

Summary
Scott is a lot of things. He’s sharp, and mean, and he knows he can be judgemental and rude sometimes; but he is loyal, damn him, and he can’t even imagine betraying those he is close to. He can’t even picture abandoning them. And he knows it makes him predictable, but it’s the one thing he can’t force himself to do.
