With his wife tending to the kitchen, a baby nestled contently against him, they could perhaps be the paragon of domestic bliss. But L noticed how Light's sweet pomegranate scent had gone sour, how he no longer hummed Japanese radio songs as he cooked. Though he cooed at Harumi, he didn't say a word to L as he placed a plate none too gently in front of him, nor did he take a plate for himself. Instead, he disappeared off to nurse Harumi.
L ate as quickly as possible, then slipped off to his study to lose himself to his latest case. These days, the less time he spent around Light, the better off they both were.

Summary
Chuuya's gaze takes on something akin to horror as his eyes rove over Dazai. Usually, the presence of thick bandages under his clothes fills him out enough that he looks terribly slender instead of borderline emaciated. That layer of safety no longer exists—there is nothing to conceal the protruding ribs, his sharp clavicles, the dangerous concave of his torso and the meatlessness of his legs. He shivers.
"Osamu," Chuuya says slowly, "darling, do you want me to take you to a doctor?"
or, dazai's relationship with food is dicey at best, downright dangerous at worst. chuuya helps.

Summary
Light bit his lip, trembling. He, who had always prided himself on impeccable control, now reduced to something biological but at the same time devastating.
"Shit… of all times, it had to be now…" he whispered, low, as if it were a secret.
He swallowed hard, took a breath and called out in a trembling voice:
"L… I… I need to go to the bathroom."
The sound of the chains echoed in the silence, the clinking waking the detective, who slowly lifted his eyes. In seconds, the drowsiness disappeared from his face. L’s cold, piercing gaze swept across the room and landed on the bed.
Light held his breath. L didn’t need to ask. One look at the stain on the sheets and the situation revealed itself without a word.

Dazai’s breath hitched, and his eyes widened in disbelief. “No, you can’t—”
Then he felt it—something like a subtle shift somewhere inside him. He couldn’t pinpoint where the sensation started or ended, but it was there. And just as quickly as it happened, it went away, as if it had already sealed itself in him, became a part of him.
“What did you just do to me?” he asked, the words barely making it past his throat, more accusation than question.
“Saved you. You’ll probably hate me for it, but that’s what it was.”
or, Vampire!Chuuya finds Dazai on the verge of death, and uses mind compulsion to make him unable to try to end his life ever again. After that, he disappears, leaving Dazai alone for two years of nothing but hatred and resentment toward the vampire who violated his will and trapped him in the pathetic existence people call life. Until, when Chuuya’s the one in need of help, their paths cross again.
