Ah yes, cause that was totally helpful. Ena turned to her right and saw a few tiny triangles. A little farther away, she saw a head poking out from the top. The person had silver hair. That’s her. The artist jogged over to her leader, making sure to voice her position. “Kanade, I’m here.”
“E-Ena….”
Ena recognized that tone of voice. She’s heard it on many different occasions when her father got a little too handsy and hit her over an artwork that the rest of her praised but him. She’s also heard it when comforting her friends, like Mizuki and Airi.
“K. Are you crying?”

#2 Mizukihey, what the fuck is happening?’
For all the years she's known her, Mizuki has never known Kanade to be so in pain. It's something she wanted for a long time.
Wait, that sounds super sadistic! Mizuki doesn't want Kanade in pain, there's no one on Earth that could willingly want to harm such a kind-hearted girl. Hell– all she wanted was to save someone else. Just hanging out with her restores Mizuki's faith in humanity!
It's just… For all the years she has known K, she's always kinda been like that. This perfect savior stuff sounds less like a philanthropy project and more like her god-given fate. Her entire life. And given Kanade's tendencies to work until she drops, it doesn't seem like a pretty good one.All Mizuki has wanted is to get closer to the other three, and she has! All four of them have revealed reflections of themselves no one else but 25ji could understand. But K always felt guarded. She shares her life, especially the hard bits, with as little of the gritty details as she could. There's always a happy ending with her. ‘I've wanted to disappear for a long time now, but it's okay, I'm here composing.’ Silly, that doesn’t change how you wanted to disappear!

There it is again. It's like Kanade physically restricts herself from being too much. All of her problems have to be offset by the weightlessness of good– she's a paragon of virtue after all. The music crafted by her hands is powerful, and there are scales one must not tip.“There's so many,” she says, as if comprehending it for the first time. Awed, bewildered, regretful, “So many– and it doesn't matter.”
“I know.” She has no idea. In her fight for authenticity, Mizuki only has to care for herself and a few select people. Kanade, though. The weight of her promise must be suffocating– she's carrying the entire world.
Tip that scale for me, love, she thinks. I won't mind the weight. I won't mind it at all.-
#3 EnaEna loves art, but Kande lives in music. It consumes her– without social interaction with 25ji and her score clients she’ll probably drown in it. Her mind connects keys to chords like a finger tracing a constellation. Her voice is divine, soft yet resonate. Her hands were made to press into a keyboard.
Frankly, Ena couldn’t give less of a shit about any of that.
Talent has been weaning its shine as the years pass. It’s nothing more than a random boost at birth. Resonance, however, is an award you have to run and keep running at. Accomplishment is something you dig out of the cold, dry dirt. Kanade isn’t quitting music because of fucking talent.
After finding that warmth, one of the first things Ena learned about Kanade was her drive. She wanted to make a song that could save someone. And she’s done that, a thousand times over.
Her mouth isn’t working, so Ena’s stuck listening as the conversation flows back to familiar topics. What the hell? Are the others seriously entertaining this bullshit? Kanade just announced she’s leaving the thing that has been supporting her for this long and they’re sending her off with flowers? She’s falling off this cliff, hello?!
To leave music. Ha! If she didn’t know about the prior panic attack, she would’ve still been looking for cameras. Someone like Kanade can’t leave music. Just like Ena can’t leave art. It’s in everything– the bright green rustling of the trees, the gray pitter patter of city sidewalks, the dark blue twinkling of a night sky. Creativity like that follows you. Trying to outrun it leaves you in circles.Would Ena be in the wrong for not stopping this mental breakdown? Hearing Kanade so in pain hurts, but this anger… The last time she saw Kanade properly angry was after she met Mafuyu’s mother. Even in that memory, all Ena remembers feeling were embers to an already extinguished flame. She had dampened herself in order to save Mafuyu. It was a good thing too, Mafuyu needed gentle kindling.
But Mafuyu isn’t where she was years ago. This place allows for a little more blaze. All Ena isn’t sure about is how to properly tell Kanade that.If destroying 25ji is what Kanade needs to find herself, then Ena wouldn’t mind lighting the first spark. She knows how to deal with explosions.

“For selfies, Yuki! Photo booths are different– you don't see them often, so people go in to look cute. Everyone knows that.”
“Oh.”
“Oh,” Kanade echoes. Her voice holds the expected amount of embarrassment for this situation. “I didn’t know.”
Ena's voice suddenly shifts into something overwhelmingly sweet. “Oh, hush K. You're so pretty in these. Actually, your cuteness saved these photos.” Another shift, Ena grows cold again. “Yuki, thank her.”
