When Castiel returns, he and Dean have to fight with some very confronting emotions and destroy the baddie, not to mention perhaps benefit from their mutual realization.

Summary
Cas thinks that substitute teaching is hard; probably harder than regular teaching. It’s been a long day too… the kids have been unruly and he’s ready for a nice break. Dean, the sexy auto shop teacher, had stepped into his classroom for a few minutes, teasing him mercilessly and leaving him aching with want. Now, with about fifteen minutes left before his next class, Cas decides to head for the teacher’s lounge and grab a much needed cup of coffee.
As he moves through the halls, he starts to feel self-conscious. He doesn’t want to be paranoid but it sure feels as though students and faculty alike are staring at him, even whispering about him. Stepping into the restroom he sees why. A glimpse of himself in the mirror sets his stomach spinning in a sickening way. Dean’s greasy finger prints are all over his freshly pressed white collar. When some asshole hits a dog with his car and drives off, the first two people on the scene are Dean and Castiel. Castiel's an FBI agent with a plane to catch, and he doesn't have time to take the dog to the vet. Dean's a musician, and he doesn't have the money. An agreement is reached: Dean goes, Castiel pays, and they'll exchange details and meet again to work things out. But who gets the dog? Sooner or later they're going to realise that having shared custody of one pitbull isn't ideal. She needs one home, not two. One stable, loving home...

Castiel sighed inwardly. The morose drunks were always the hardest to gauge. Some wanted sympathy; some wanted to get angry; some wanted to be cheered up. Some just wanted to talk.
This guy wasn't sloppy-drunk, at least. Didn't seem particularly drunk at all, really, though in general hitting the whiskey at 6:30 on a Tuesday afternoon wasn't a good sign.
And anyway, Cas was perfectly willing to admit, if he had to play bartender-therapist, it's nice when his patron-patient's disgustingly attractive.

Summary
When Metatron breaks free of the library, Castiel’s grace in hand, and disappears, Castiel is left human-- and angry. Angrier than he’ll admit until, late at night, Dean coaxes it out of him: Castiel is pissed and he wants revenge. He wants it enough to pursue Metatron, reckless and without a plan, across the Atlantic with Dean at his side, knowing how badly he wants Dean and how likely it is that one or both of them will die along the way.
Their search takes them all across the world, from London to Omsk to Tokyo and between. Far from home with no one but each other, Castiel’s grace missing and the Mark still on Dean’s arm, Dean and Castiel find the flimsy barriers between the two of them dissolving. (Canon-divergent from 10.18.)
