Who cared about who or what lived in this forest? A group of rogues, or animals hunting for prey, or even the Wolf Mask army? He would take every single thing coming for him, wounded or not, if it meant finding his kid.
Because Sora had called him ‘Dad’.
Or: After the events of the Tournament of Sources, Lloyd reflects on what happened. The consequences of shutting himself away and lack of communication ensue, hurting his students in the crossfire.

As Sora continued to list any possible ideas in her head, she slowly made her way up to the wall by the kitchen, perking up at the sound of quiet breathing… shaky. Hesitantly, she poked her head inside.
In the reflection of the glaring moonlight stood Lloyd in the middle of the kitchen, holding a half-opened tea bag.
“Oh. Sora.” Lloyd tried to smile. But never mind his hand tightly gripped on the corner of the kitchen counter, his knuckles growing paler by the second. Not his trembling legs, about to collapse under him at any given moment. Not his long, unkept blond hair, having gotten more tangled since last week. Not his failed attempt to try and make himself look presentable at all in the moment. “Glad… glad it was just you.”
The terror in his eyes remained the same.
Or: Sora stumbles upon a very stressed Lloyd.

Jay dropped the dusty board game box in the middle of their circle. The others leaned in to read the title. Cole was the first to speak. “Out of all the board games you could’ve picked, you picked Sorry?”
“I would’ve brought out Jenga, but for some reason, Sensei doesn’t have it,” Jay protested, taking a seat in the empty spot. “Come on! Pick your colors and let’s play.”

A quiet groan escaped from Shadow’s throat as he blinked wearily, gazing around his surroundings. The room was dark, evident with no windows, and he could see the outline of a door on the wall in front of him. He was sat on the cold, concrete floor, his back against the opposite wall. Evidently, there was no furniture stood in the room.
…A cell. Of course.
He unfolded his ears, listening for any potential new sounds nearby. Beeping, perhaps, or the telltale clink and clack of metal footsteps outside of the cell.
Shadow jumped at the sound of quiet, unsteady breathing to his right.
or: shadow wakes up to find himself in a cell, along with an unconscious sonic by his side.

“Thirteen hours?” Sora repeated in disbelief, shaking her head once they got into the elevator. “My own race mechs take days, weeks to build, and even then I still have to plan it!” And find time to steal from the junkyard for parts. “Where do you get all your materials?”
Lloyd pressed a button to the main floor. “That’s a secret with the ninja,” he replied with a smile, “but now that you two will be on the team, I’ll share it with you soon.”
They reentered the relaxation room, and Lloyd crossed his arms in thought as he led them into the hallway. “We can spend the first week moving your stuff over to the Monastery and settling in before we start training,” he said. “In the meanwhile, I’ll start getting your rooms ready.”
or: before arin and sora officially start their training, they go through moving week as they settle into the monastery
