It's an old game he and Stick used to play. Maybe not a game; something more like a test.
"Tell me what you taste."
Stick bought him an ice cream, the first time, but the game quickly expanded. From plain white rice (so much hiding in something so simple), to jerk chicken from Restaurant Row (Stick would make him pick out every last spice, in order of volume, then list their origins). Every wrong answer meant the swift crack of Stick’s cane across his shoulders or a jab behind the knee.
If he omitted an ingredient, he'd have to keep eating until he got them all—even if he'd already identified after the tiniest bite, say, the soiled band-aid the short-order cook had dropped in the chili and left to stew all day.
In which Matt Murdock dismantles a child trafficking ring while dealing with the ghosts of his past.

With the bar's mess of unfiltered yelling, accusations of grandeur, and crude gestures, Charlie's 'bad room' activities are of no interest. The collective haze from alcohol is thick enough that by the end of the day, Charlie’s descent back into civilization– if you could even refer to the gang as such– is accepted without question. When he fails to come into work the next day, Mac decides to investigate.
He doesn't expect Jack's name to be a part of the mix.

Investigators are questioning Thomas’ friends as we speak…”

Welcome to a very long series of one-shots and multipart chapters that follows Spencer Reid's journey in the BAU.
I go episode by episode, looking for any potential angst or hurt/comfort moments with him and then write where I feel the cm writers might've left something out.
There are tags to episodes, extras, 'what if's', and more! Some chapters are stand alone and some have multiple parts but, just like in the show, the chapters are linked to some degree with reoccurring themes.
If you need an excuse to watch the series over again, or if you're watching for the very first time, I label each chapter with the season and episode number so that you can avoid spoilers (if you want)!!!
I am still working on this fic (though it looks like it is complete, I did this because you could read most chapters as stand alone) and more new chapters are coming as frequently as I can put them out.
