Bevor ihn die Panik verschlucken kann, besinnt Peter sich. Hadden Industries ist ein Großunternehmen, das weltweit in der Kunststoffproduktion agiert, hat Justus gesagt. Niemand, der seine Finger in Drogen, Waffen oder geraubten Schätzen hat. Sie werden mit sich reden lassen. Selbst im Zwielicht unter Deck kann er das Entsetzen in Skinny Norris’ Gesicht sehen und dass er das für keine gute Idee hält. Peter weiß, dass es nur noch diese eine Möglichkeit gibt.

Armand lets out a small sigh. So small Daniel almost misses it. “There is so much you don’t know. I would not expect you to understand.” His expression changes, “And yet…”
Daniel cocks a brow. “Yet what?”
The light catches on Armand’s alarmingly bright eyes. “Even after everything… I am surprised to see your desire for me is still strong.”
Daniel's stomach turns. Flips over so furiously he's left momentarily speechless. And then, he's bolting up from his chair, and ignores the woozy rush it deploys to his head.
“My desire for you?” he bites out, squaring up to hide his unease. “You’re fucking kidding me, right?”
Armand’s mouth, which has been the source of confusion on more than one occasion, is mostly a straight line, only a slight curl at its corner.
“I can assure you, I am not.”
