The first thing Vox feels when he wakes up is something crashing down his bicep. There is no smell of coffee in the air, no radio playing, no sound of water running and Vox forces his mind to remember what day it is, what time it is, where would his husband be since he probably wasn't in the bathroom or in their kitchen--
He got his answer as soon as he turned his head towards their window.

Whoever Vincent had expected to see, it certainly wasn’t Alastor. Yet there he stood, his shirt soaking wet and stained with deep red wine. His curled, pristine hair now damp and tangled in knots. One of his eyes is swelling shut, and the other doesn’t dare to look up and meet Vincent’s shocked gaze. For just a single moment, Alastor’s smile almost falters.

Summary
An au in which Vox never made the offer for a partnership and his relationship with Alastor was allowed to bloom into something more.
It takes place in the modern day. Alastor and Vox are secretly in love and they get engaged. Due to the nature of their established rivalry and Alastor's reputation as a heartless, cold-blooded killer, no one believes he agreed to the marriage of his own free will. Under the impression that Vox has hypnotized Alastor, Charlie embarks on a mission to rescue him from the Media Overlord.
Trying to capture a livid Radio Demon who very much does NOT want to be "saved" goes as well as expected.

Summary
Vincent’s brain was as hazy as the mug of dark coffee he kept staring into, as his thoughts kept on returning to the last encounter he had with Alastor. It's not like they've never been through an argument before, or had a falling out afterwards. Vincent was used to these disturbances in what he could otherwise call a pretty successful life, but this time it felt different. If he didn't know Alastor any better he would have said their conversation almost felt final.

"We were never friends." The words were harsh, spat out in Vox's face like a snake spitting venom on its poor, unsuspecting victim.
Vox just blinked, "What? But- you told me, we were-"
Alastor just waved his hand dismissively, and Vox instinctively fell silent, a subtle static buzzing across his screen as Alastor let the final blow land with a barking laugh.
"Lies, Vincent. I thought you knew that. I didn't realise you had become soft."

Vincent had died a brutal death, crushed and electrocuted in the heat of a baptism, and found himself in Hell, not surprising, in a body that wasn't his. He knew well that loyalties had to be taken at an arm's length and friendships had to be double guessed. So maybe it was his own fault for growing attached.OR: Vox lands in Hell and finds his life intertwined with a certain radio demon. For better or for worse.
