Summary
Tommy remained silent for the entire ride home, and when they were stopped at a red light, Buck glanced over and saw that he had propped his elbow on the door in order to cover his eyes with one hand. Light sensitivity, Buck told himself. A common concussion symptom. Tommy definitely wouldn’t be crying in Buck’s truck right now. Not unflappable, confident Tommy.
There was something going on with him—something more than being shaken up by an accident.
Three weeks after their disastrous post-breakup hookup, Buck gets an unexpected call from Tommy.

Summary
“I don’t even know what I’m doing here, actually,” Tommy murmurs, looking around the aisle. He picks up a box of lemon chiffon and then puts it right back on the shelf.
“You love cake,” Buck reminds him. “All kinds of cake, but I’ve noticed that chocolate is your favorite. I was going to bake you one for your birthday. Four layers, buttercream filling, ganache—the works. Asshole.”
“You’re a lot meaner in dreams than in real life,” Tommy observes.
After the breakup, Buck and Tommy meet in their dreams.

“What?” Buck asks, confused.
“Who’s getting the proverbial ax, Firefighter Buckley? You may as well tell us now.”
After golfing with Gerrard, Buck just wants comforting over a few drinks with his friends. But all he gets is a hard time.

Summary
“Hey.”
Buck can feel himself grinning from ear to ear as he pivots.
The sight before him is even better than the glimpse he got in the chaos earlier: Tommy, broad-shouldered, windblown, and looking as cool and collected as if he’d just hopped out of his own helicopter. Buck feels suspended in midair for a few seconds, caught in a warm updraft.
Tommy lands the plane, everyone is safe, and Buck can't wait another minute to get his hands on that hot pilot. [contains possible spoilers for 8x03]

No matter how much Harry Potter wanted to believe he’d left danger behind when the war ended, it found him again anyway. All he had to do was step out his own front door on a Tuesday morning. A Drarry re-imagining of Howl’s Moving Castle.

Summary
A string of nearly-insufferable dinner parties has made Draco acquainted with Harry Potter’s completely insufferable, social-climbing boyfriend. But tonight it seems like Potter’s finally had enough, and Draco’s more than happy to watch it all play out from across the table.

Summary
She waits for him to approach her, not far from the doors, and the closer he gets the more lovely she is. Petite, with a thin face, large dark eyes, and long hair. She’s got her arms wrapped tightly around herself, and the cuffs of her cardigan are clutched in her fists. Chimney dons his best, most reassuring smile.
“May I help you?”
“Yes, I’m looking for someone who works here, I think. Evan Buckley?”
What if Maddie came looking for Buck at the firehouse when she first came to L.A., instead of Abby's apartment? A little fix-it fic for @911hiatus' "What Canon? Wednesday" on Tumblr.

Summary
The firefighters of the 118 decide to give Bobby a turn at pranking them after seeing how disappointed he was to be left out. And since two heads are better than one, why not three? Or four? If only they could figure out who's pranking and who isn't, and who the intended victim is. It's all in good fun, though—as long as everyone is too distracted to notice that Buck and Eddie keep sneaking off alone.

Summary
Is Buck out with Natalia tonight? Like a mosquito bite he can’t help scratching, Eddie imagines Buck smiling at her across a restaurant table, blue eyes bright and cheek dimpling. He probably feels comfortable with her already, having bonded over death or whatever. They might get so carried away talking that their meals get cold before they notice. Maybe Natalia will reach across the table for his hand at some point, and Buck will let her, easy as that.
Easy as that. Eddie’s emotions from his dream flare back up within him, hot and ugly, and he finally recognizes them for what they are.
On his way to El Paso, Eddie dreams at 40,000 feet and wakes with a revelation.

Summary
Buck’s already out on the balcony, starting the steaks. Eddie spotted him the moment he opened the door, because his eyes just do that now, apparently. He has his back to the kitchen, his broad shoulders moving beneath the tight, gray sweater he’s wearing (so tight!) as he gets the grill ready. It’s only been a few days since Eddie and Christopher were last here, but Buck insisted. Eddie was not to be trusted with such beautiful steaks, he was told. It was also implied that his job might be at stake (very funny, Buck, another steak pun) if word got back to Bobby that Eddie had overcooked them.
Eddie arrives at Buck's place too late for the cookie baking, but finds he didn't miss the most important things, after all.

Summary
It was an impulsive decision, and now Eddie really wishes he’d thought about it more first, given himself time to mentally prepare for what he might hear. But the conversation with Buck a few days ago got him curious. No, that’s not true, exactly. It was the confused furrow between Buck’s eyes after Eddie said he didn’t remember much about it. It was the disappointed way Buck asked, “And that was all?” —leaving Eddie to wonder if there was, in fact, something important he should have remembered.
Eddie finally gets the full story about the shooting—and he really needs to talk to someone about it.

Summary
Buck told everyone he’d be okay alone. He walked his parents and Maddie to the door and promised to text if he needed anything; he put all the flowers out on the balcony. Then he sat at his table to relish the silence, read the get well cards people had sent him, and soak up the familiarity of home without someone asking how he was feeling every five minutes. It was peaceful. Nice.
Until he tried to go to sleep.
Buck's first night home from the hospital is not as easy as he though it would be. A companion fic to Weep and call it singing.

Summary
The apartment feels as hollow as an empty nautilus shell.
Buck’s going to come home again, Eddie tells himself. There’ll be more dinners around the big table, more game nights—well, assuming Buck ever gets around to buying a new couch. Buck will bustle around the kitchen, his and Chris’ laughter will fill the echoing space, and Eddie—
Eddie will never, ever take any of it for granted again.
On the third day of Buck's medically-induced coma, Eddie visits his apartment.
