Summary
The past remembers every cowardice and every chance not taken.
Haunted by the ruin his cowardice helped unleash, Cornelius Fudge is thrust back to the night Cedric Diggory dies and Lord Voldemort returns. At first, he can make no sense of it - whether it is dream, punishment, afterlife, or impossible mercy - but as the past begins to bend beneath his choices, confusion gives way to a fragile, dangerous hope. For the first time, Cornelius is forced to confront not only the truth he once denied, but the possibility that history has offered him one last chance to be braver than he was before.
Cornelius must decide whether this second chance is truly redemption - or simply another, crueller way to fail.
Because this time, if he fails, he will do so knowing exactly who is going to die.Bookmarked by xchng

Summary
Draco couldn’t handle it anymore. During the summer before his eighth year, his father banished him from Malfoy Manor and the Malfoy family, and Draco had no choice but to go live with the only person he knew who lived in Muggle London. Hermione Granger.
Or: Draco in the Muggle World being forced to do things the Muggle way and being incredibly confused by it, but it’s okay; Harry finds him adorable. But Harry is also confused by Draco’s lack of knowledge of Muggle things, and is pretty on the nose about the wizarding world when poking fun at Hermione :) Oh, and Hermione ships it <3

It was "Witch Weekly", of all people and organizations, the first to notice and comment on The Boy Who Lived’s absence from the ranks of first years at Hogwarts. The magazine went on to elucubrate that the young hero was studying at a foreign school, possibly Beauxbatons or Holzschuhkäse.

I actually really liked this story and the details and creative ideas that paint this new street muggle world Harry inhabits. The main reason this won‘t be tagged as a favorite is that the story ends too quickly and without resolve, although the story only needed about 3-5 more chapters to come to a wellrounded conclusion. Just as Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Luna, and Blaise join the couple, things got interesting to me, but that that is where the story almost ends. A little disappointing.
Summary (Spoilers!):
Endrina - Life skills outside the curriculum
Harry runs away from the Dursleys at the age of ten, choosing to survive on the streets of London rather than return to Privet Drive. Dumbledore and the Order are unable to locate him for years because Harry’s unique "instinct magic" and intent-based protections shield him from magical tracking.
While living in abandoned buildings and working odd jobs, Harry develops wandless abilities, such as drawing protective circles and using a metal awl as a focus to unlock doors. Remus eventually manages to catch a glimpse of him after using muggle sketches and street informants to narrow down his location. When a street youth is murdered, Harry uses his power to mentally overwhelm the rapist-killer and uses something similar to a wandless Imperio curse to force a public confession at Scotland Yard.
Years later, Draco runs away from his family and the Wizarding War, encountering Harry on the streets of London and eventually moving into a squat with him. The two form a deep bond, with Draco teaching Harry formal magical theory while Harry teaches Draco how to survive as a muggle. Their hiding ends when they are captured by Greyback and taken to Malfoy Manor, where Harry is subjected to torture before Voldemort. Draco identifies Harry to the group to stop the torture, and Harry then punches Voldemort with fiery hands covered by his mother's protection before the two flee to the residence of Sirius.
Harry refuses Dumbledore’s offer to attend Hogwarts after hearing that it was him who placed Harry with the Dursleys. and instead stays in London, where he is joined by Ron, Hermione, and several other students who leave the school to support him. This group, known as the "Missing Seven," hunts Voldemort's Horcruxes by blending magical expertise with unconventional street tactics and muggle resources. Harry later removes the magical fragment from his own scar at the river Lea and returns to live with his friends in London.

Really well written and great attention to detail, subscribing and will definitely read again in full when finished. Love Slytherin-Hufflepuff Harry, his foster parents Andromeda and Ted, and the building influence of Arcturus Black in the background. My only worry is that this great story might never be finished.

(Summary continues from previous work.)
Year 4 (Book 3):
During the fourth-year Triwizard Tournament, Harry and his twin brother Oliver are both unexpectedly selected as champions, but different tasks than in canon. While facing the first task's Dementor Mist, Harry experiences harrowing visions of Alice Longbottom’s sacrifice that lead him to the world-shattering realization that he, rather than Oliver, is the true Boy-Who-Lived.Throughout the year, the brothers navigate dangerous magical trials while their social lives are upended by Rita Skeeter’s malicious articles exposing Harry’s abusive childhood at the Dursleys and a deep rift within their friend group caused by Terry Boot secretly dosing Blaise Zabini with Amortentia.
Upon touching the cup, the brothers are transported to a graveyard where Voldemort is resurrected using their blood and reveals that Harry is an accidental Horcrux; however, Harry utilizes an explosion of raw wandless magic and the Killing Curse to destroy the Dark Lord’s physical form and escape back to Hogwarts with his injured brother.
In the aftermath, the Potter family uncovers Albus Dumbledore’s long-term manipulation and use of compulsion charms to separate their family, leading to a powerful reconciliation where James and Lily pull their children from school and join the Order of the Phoenix to prepare for the inevitable return of Voldemort.
Year 5 (Book 4):
Harry and his twin brother Oliver return to Hogwarts for their fifth year under the oppressive watch of the Ministry, while the Order of the Phoenix works frantically to destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes before his physical return. To counter the tyrannical restrictions of Dolores Umbridge, the brothers co-lead a secret defense group called the Hogwarts Army, a rebellion that eventually leads to Harry killing Umbridge in self-defense after she reveals she orchestrated the Dementor attacks and intends to hand the boys over to Bellatrix Lestrange.
While Lily Potter leads the Magical Justice Party to expose Ministry corruption, the siblings manage to locate and destroy Ravenclaw’s diadem in the Chamber of Secrets using a basilisk fang, fulfilling Dumbledore's request to eliminate the Horcrux hidden within the school.
In a brutal battle at the Ministry of Magic where Tonks is killed, James Potter dies while slaying the final Horcrux Nagini, and Lily is lost through the Veil during a duel with Bellatrix, whom Oliver subsequently kills in a fit of righteous rage. Ultimately, Harry and Oliver vanquish Voldemort using a connection of love that the Dark Lord cannot understand, and the surviving siblings begin a new life with Sirius Black, seeking healing through counseling as they face a future finally free from the threat of war.

Summary (Spoilers!):
aspionage - Sybillance Series
Pre-Hogwarts (Book 1):
One year after Voldemort's 1981 attack, James and Lily Potter are convinced by Albus Dumbledore that their son Harry is a Squib and must be left with the Dursleys for his own protection, while they raise his celebrity twin, Oliver, as the "Boy-Who-Lived".Eight years later, the Potters discover Harry is actually a wizard and retrieve him, but the boy struggles to integrate into his new life at Potter Manor, harboring deep resentment toward his parents while navigating a supportive bond with his sister Jasmine and a hostile, jealous rivalry with Oliver.
Tensions within the family reach a breaking point when Oliver’s bullying causes a dangerous display of accidental magic from Harry, leading him to run away to London where he is eventually found by his godfather, Sirius Black, to whom he finally reveals the extent of the Dursleys’ physical and emotional abuse. While adjusting to a new custody arrangement where he lives with Sirius during the week and visits the Potters on weekends, Harry feels forced to participate in muggle drug-running operations for his school friend Dan.
The narrative concludes with the successful criminal conviction of the Dursleys and Harry finding a sense of hope and belonging as he obtains a phoenix feather wand—the brother to Voldemort’s—and prepares to depart for Hogwarts with his family.
Year 1 - 3 (Book 2):
Both brothers are unexpectedly sorted into Slytherin, forcing them to navigate a tense relationship and a shared rivalry with Draco Malfoy. Harry forms a loyal, cross-house friendship group with Blaise, Tracey, Neville, and Hermione, while Oliver and Draco become their rivals. Harry becomes Slytherin Seeker and is mentored by Snape. Despite their deep-seated animosity, Harry and Blaise follow Ollie, Draco, and Ron into the forbidden corridor to prevent Voldemort from stealing the Philosopher’s Stone. The year concludes with the Potter twins sharing an uneasy truce after the stone is saved, though Harry continues to harbor intense resentment toward James and Lily for his childhood abandonment.Harry’s second year is defined by the exposure of his cigarette business forced onto him by his muggle gang friends, which leads to a painful confrontation with James and Lily about his abandonment and results in mandatory counseling with Severus Snape to manage his growing anger issues. When the Chamber of Secrets is opened, Harry faces school-wide suspicion for his Parseltongue ability, but he eventually unites with Oliver to kill the Basilisk, save Ginny, and destroy Tom Riddle’s diary. This moment serves as an act of mutual sacrifice that serves as the turning point for the twins' reconciliation.
Jasmine is sorted into Ravenclaw. Harry assists Oliver in obtaining a diagnosis and support for his dyslexia, ultimately leading to a restored sense of family and a newfound understanding between the brothers. While supporting Blaise through a difficult breakup, Harry balances his improving relationship with his father against the realization that he may never share a deep connection with his mother. The story ends with a unified New Year's celebration at Sirius Black's house, where the twins fully reconcile and Harry finally embraces his place within both his chosen and biological family.

TheSinister_Man - Harry Potter and the Death Eater Menace (Year Three)
Theo Nott is brutally disowned by his father via the Ultimate Sanction, an irreversible magical social curse that strips him of his name and forces a web of irrational hatred upon him from almost everyone connected to the wizarding government.
Hermione Granger reveals she is a time traveler from a dystopian future who returned to the prior summer to prevent a timeline where Harry, Jim, and their friends were murdered or incapacitated during a successful Death Eater coup.
An unlikely conspiracy involving Lucius Malfoy, Regulus Black, and Augusta Longbottom orchestrates a daring jailbreak to free Sirius Black and several key Death Eaters from Azkaban to interrogate them about Voldemort’s Horcruxes.
While Jim Potter and Ron Weasley study magical martial arts and Parselmagic in India, Remus Lupin returns to Hogwarts disguised as the caretaker Malachi Sturgeon to secretly train the students and guard against external threats.
Ron overcomes personal struggles with dyslexia and saves Parvati Patil's life with advanced Parselmagic, leading to a spiritual encounter with the Last of the Naga who cures his soul-deep fear of spiders.
Peter Pettigrew is exposed as a calculating Death Eater spy and descendant of a war criminal who has manipulated the Potter family for years, even using the Imperius Curse on Jim to induce a false, paranoid hatred of his twin, Harry.
Harry Potter discovers a dark Potter family prophecy that predicts the world will end in fire if the "Last Potter" rises as the Prince of Slytherin, a title that Harry eventually chooses to renounce to prevent the foretold catastrophe.
To exonerate the innocent Sirius Black, the Azkabal conspiracy uses the captured Lestranges to record staged memories that pin past crimes on a fictitious Death Eater named Marcellus Frump.
During a climactic confrontation at the Shrieking Shack, Pettigrew attempts to use a weaponized Wolfsbane Potion and Remus's werewolf form to kill his enemies, but Harry uses high-level Legilimency to trigger Remus’s natural Animagus wolf form and save his family.
After James Potter invokes the Ultimate Sanction on Harry in a fit of prophetic panic, Harry uses a Time-Turner provided by Hermione to travel back in time, successfully capturing Pettigrew and securing a future where his loved ones remain safe.

Summary (Spoilers!):
TheSinister_Man - Harry Potter and The Secret Enemy (Year Two)
Harry returns to the Dursleys' house just long enough to be caught in a lethal doxy ambush, in which Vernon Dursley throws him out of the house to be eaten alive and killed by the creatures. Snape determines through Legilimency that Harry's presence induces dislike, violence, and fear in Muggles, though he is unable to figure out the cause.
After surviving an assassination attempt at his joint birthday with Jim, Harry returns to Hogwarts where he obtains the position of Chaser on the Slytherin Quidditch team. He spends the year grappling with several attempts on his life, the mysterious petrification of students as a result of the opening of the Chamber of Secrets, and an annoying prank war.
In the meantime, Harry participates in several of his brilliant and strange new DADA teacher Gilderoy Lockhart's advanced magical group projects, and feuds with his brother, Jim, exposing him as a Parselmouth. Albus Dumbledore tells Harry the full contents of Sybil Trelawney's Prophecy.
Despite his knack for deduction, Harry does not realize until the end of the year that the prank war was actually a cover for the true danger of the Chamber of Secrets - the fragment of Tom Riddle's soul that controls the Basilisk.
After all the staff members including Dumbledore are petrified, leaving Hogwarts undefended, Harry, Jim, and Ginny Weasley battle the Basilisk and Tom Riddle's soul fragment to save a possessed Ron ("The Secret Enemy" who Jim trusted and was responsible for escalating the prank war). After Harry destroys the Diary with the Sword of Gryffindor, he learns that it is a Horcrux created by Lord Voldemort, who hid his true Tom Riddle identity under a Fidelius charm. Harry also learns that he is a natural Legilimens, and has unwittingly been manipulating the wizards around him since the start of his time at Hogwarts.
The brilliant Gilderoy Lockhart is revealed to be Regulus Black in disguise, who gets rid of this fake identity by claiming responsibility for the Chamber's opening before wiping the real Lockhart's own mind, sending him to Janus Thickey Ward. Regulus seeks to stop the Dark Lord from using the Anathema Codex (an ancient grimoire owned by the old Wizarding families with spells that are so powerful they should be kept secret from society punishable by death) to rise again, but in order to do so, he will have to enlist Harry, Lucius Malfoy, Augusta Longbottom and Marcus Flint into his plot to break several Death Eaters out of Azkaban (conspiracy known as the "Azkabal").
Narcissa Black is revealed to be behind the attempts on Harry's life, after Draco tells her by letter that he will never reach her expectations whilst Harry is alive. After the Chamber of Secrets incident, Narcissa manages to file for divorce from Lucius, taking the majority of the Malfoy wealth with her. Draco refuses her offers to house him, making her disown him and planning to get new children.

Although I usually don’t like overpowered-Harry fics, here Harry saves the world with elegance, charm, and wit, not teenage vengefulness. It is also refreshing to read a time-travel fix-it in which finally Harry makes plans and executes them efficiently instead of letting the story play out (to only change things in the last moment to reach 100k words per Hogwarts year). Would reread.

Summary (Spoilers!):
LizzyChen95 - The Ferret Wrangler of a Gryffindor
After waking up in his 13 year-old body with the memories of a weary 37 year-old Head Auror, Harry Potter decides to scrap Dumbledore’s original plans in favor of his own, utilizing psychological warfare and "tactical lifting" to rehabilitate and seduce Draco Malfoy while systematically altering the course of the wizarding war.
Harry successfully exposes Peter Pettigrew in the Great Hall during his third year, leading to the immediate exoneration of Sirius Black and the removal of the Dursleys from his life, all while he begins socially and financially isolating Lucius Malfoy to secure the future of the House of Black.
During a calculated fourth year, Harry predicts the Triwizard Tournament's events to ensure his own survival and that of Cedric Diggory, while using the Yule Ball as a grand stage to publicly claim Draco as his partner, effectively neutralizing the boy's bullying through persistent affection and strategic blackmail of the wizarding press.
By blackmailing Dumbledore and Snape into a preemptive Horcrux hunt and leveraging Narcissa Malfoy’s maternal love to access the Lestrange vault, Harry successfully unmakes Voldemort’s soul in the Little Hangleton graveyard, reducing the Dark Lord to a magically inert homunculus without the need for a bloody war.
After undergoing a delicate procedure to remove the soul fragment from his own scar, Harry ensures a peaceful future for all his friends and family, eventually marrying Draco and raising three children—James, Albus, and Scorpius—in a world where even the most tragic casualties of the original timeline, such as Remus, Snape, and Hedwig, are allowed to live happy, mundane lives.

Monumental work with impeccable worldbuilding. Downside is the extent: up to 585k words per book; instead of moving the plot forward, this fic invents a lot of lore that make this a very interesting, but also a not very relaxing read. Still potentially one of the most significant HP fandom works out there. In book 1, this fic is also not for the light of heart: Harry‘s abuse in this fic hits worse than most fics that I have read.

TheSinister_Man - Harry Potter and the Prince of Slytherin (Year One)
(This and the following summaries were based on the summaries from https://prince-of-slytherin.fandom.com/, which had to be later deleted because the wiki user added them using an LLM, omitting key material and summarized aspects wrongly. Therefore the summaries for this work are not to be trusted and need to be updated, which isn't easy due to the work's length.)
After Peter Pettigrew betrayed the location of the Potter family to Voldemort, the entire family survives after the killing curse rebounded from the Potter twins. Albus Dumbledore's mistaken identification of Jim Potter as the Boy-Who-Lived, coupled with the Potters' belief that Harry would grow up to be a Squib, lead them to place Harry with Lily's sister Petunia and her husband Vernon Dursley, who were actively abusive towards Harry.
Harry learns of his magical heritage on his 11th birthday, bitterly finds out that he actually has living parents and a celebrity brother, and leaves for Hogwarts, where he is Sorted into Slytherin.
Throughout his First Year, Harry has an extremely antagonistic relationship with James, Lily, and Jim Potter, as well as Draco Malfoy, but he develops friendships with Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Theo Nott, and Blaise Zabini.
After he and Hermione rescue Neville from a troll in the boys' bathroom, he develops a strong relationship with Severus Snape, who provides him with introductory instruction in Occlumency.
Harry also develops friendly relations with most of the magical snakes contained within the Hogwarts paintings and other artwork, leading him to discover the Prince's Lair, the Hydra Throne, and the existence of the Prince of Slytherin position. Eventually, he is able to use the Lair and the Hydra Throne to end his power struggles with Draco, forcing his rival into an Unbreakable Vow not to harm Harry or his friends.
Though Harry deduces that Quirinus Quirrell is possessed by Voldemort in early November, he conceals his knowledge of Quirrell and the Philosopher's Stone at Snape's request. At the end of the year, Harry, Theo and Blaise rescue the Gryffindor Four (Jim, Ron Weasley, Hermione, and Neville) from Quirrell and Voldemort. Harry intervenes to retrieve the Philosopher’s Stone from the Mirror of Erised and survives a lethal confrontation with the Dark Lord, while simultaneously deducing that the gauntlet was a rigged test designed by Dumbledore for the Gryffindors.
After leaving Hogwarts, Harry and his solicitors, Artemus Podmore and Hestia Jones, visit Gringotts and confirm that Harry has a second wizarding legacy through his mother, Lily.
As the year concludes, it is revealed that Peter Pettigrew is a successful solicitor and official stewart of the House of Potter, who successfully framed Sirius Black and induced James Potter's hostility towards Harry driven by a secret 18th-century prophecy warning that a Slytherin Potter would herald the arrival of a "Dark God".

Summary (Spoilers!):
The Harry Potter and Tom Riddle Series by zaubernuss
Part 1:
When Harry is 8, he discovers a person in his mind (Tom), who has no memories of an existence outside of Harry's head; the two become friends discover shared magical abilities such as Parseltongue, used primarily to overcome neglect by the Dursleys. Tom urges Harry never to tell anyone about him, fearing exorcism.Harry enters the wizarding world without school supplies due to not having visited Diagon Alley and just by following Hermione Granger to King's Cross, is sorted into Slytherin, and is immediately confronted by Professor Snape, his Head of House, who, upon realizing Harry’s utter ignorance and the abuse he suffered, confronts Dumbledore. Harry gets a venomous snake and Tom suggests to name it Marvolo.
Harry later learns that his parents’ will expressly forbade him from being raised by the Dursleys, prompting him to successfully maneuver Petunia into signing a document appointing Snape as his wizarding guardian by proxy, which is kept a secret. Dumbledore reveals his scheme around the Philosopher's Stone to Snape, which he believes is a calculated risk intended to lure the possessed Professor Quirrell into a "safe" confrontation with Harry.
Hermione, Neville, and Harry confirm the true nature of the secret item as the Philosopher's Stone and Quirrell as the thief, leading Harry to worry about its safety, while Snape ensures Harry's basic needs are met. Harry is attacked by Quirrell in the hallway, is taken down to the Mirror of Erised, and defeats him by touching his face.
Part 2:
Harry’s summer holidays are cut short by an emergency visit from Dobby, leading Professor Snape to retrieve Harry. Upon returning to Hogwarts, student petrifications begin, and Harry becomes the prime suspect as the Heir of Slytherin when he accidentally exposes himself as a Parselmouth during a dueling club session.Harry, Hermione, and Neville discover an old black diary in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, and Harry realizes that the writing spirit, T. M. Riddle, is actually his friend Tom's past self, prompting Harry to trust the diary, while Harry's Tom urges him to treat with caution.
After the monster is correctly identified as a Basilisk, they contact Dumbledore, who appoints the magizoologist Sky Sangray (Snape's future love interest) to deal with the Basilisk, which is kept alive, but released into the Forest in smaller form.
The diary is stolen, and Harry is knocked out by a possessed Ginny Weasley, waking up in the Chamber of Secrets. Diary-Tom is not defeated with basilisk venom, but Harry painfully absorbs the Horcrux into Mind-Tom. Harry gives Dumbledore a cover up story. After getting the diary back, they discover that the diary contains the memories of Voldemort, revealing that the Dark Lord planned 7 horcruxes.
Part 3:
Harry flees the Dursleys, adopts a stray dog he names Snuffles, and Sirius Black escaped Azkaban, so Snape retrieves Harry. While enduring a Dementor attack on the train that forces Harry to faint while Tom briefly takes charge, the trio successfully locates and destroys two more of Voldemort's Horcruxes during the school year—Slytherin’s Ring and Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem —which Tom absorbs.Lupin reveals to Harry that Snape was a Death Eater, leading Snape to reveal his own past. In the Shrieking Shack scene, Lupin transforms under the full moon and is fought off by the formerly terrifying Basilisk, Scilla (viewing Harry as a friendly master).
After the subsequent dementor attack that makes Harry faint, Tom takes control and confesses the existence of the Horcruxes and his identity to Snape, prompting Snape to read Riddle's hidden memoirs from the diary and Dumbledore to advise Black to go into hiding until Pettigrew can be found, leading Harry and Tom to devise Plan B: campaigning for Black's innocence through Luna Lovegood and The Quibbler.

Summary continued (Spoilers!):
Book 3:
Harry demands the reading of Prisoner of Azkaban to force the Ministry to acknowledge Sirius Black’s innocence, and the public revelations—including Harry’s inflation of Aunt Marge, the Dementors’ psychological torture, and the truth about Pettigrew’s survival—spark chaos, with Snape outing Lupin as a werewolf in retaliation and Madam Bones concluding Fudge’s incompetence directly enabled Black’s escape. The book’s exposure of the Marauders’ secrets (Sirius as Padfoot, Pettigrew as Wormtail, Lupin as Moony) and Hermione’s Time Turner use leads to a reckoning over the Ministry’s corruption, as Bones agrees to reopen Sirius’s case while the staff scramble to contain the fallout—including Dumbledore covering for the Time Turner’s existence. In a dramatic resolution, Harry insists on capturing Pettigrew alive to prove Sirius’s innocence, and after the time-turned rescue of Sirius and Buckbeak, the Ministry is left with undeniable evidence—though the staff now face the unsettling reality that the books’ future events (like Sirius’s eventual death) may be inevitable without intervention.
Harry and the Hogwarts staff decide to end the public readings from here on.
Book 5:
Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Snape secretly read Order of the Phoenix to exploit its intelligence, discovering the D.A.’s necessity (and Umbridge’s future role in its downfall), Kreacher’s betrayal of Sirius, and the prophecy’s full text—prompting Dumbledore to preemptively secure Kreacher’s loyalty and advise Harry to continue D.A. meetings under the guise of Patronus practice.
The reading confirms Sirius’s death in the Department of Mysteries battle, a revelation that devastates Dumbledore but also clarifies Voldemort’s obsession with the prophecy, while the staff realize the books’ warnings (like Umbridge’s return) must be neutralized through careful planning. Most critically, the private reading exposes the Ministry’s future failures (like Fudge’s denial of Voldemort’s return), allowing the Order to prepare countermeasures—though the knowledge of Sirius’s doomed fate leaves Dumbledore torn between altering the timeline and accepting its predetermined tragedies.
Book 6:
The senior staff’s reading of Half-Blood Prince unveils Snape’s dual role as the titular prince and his Unbreakable Vow to Narcissa, forcing him to privately prove his loyalty to McGonagall by revealing his doe Patronus while the trio grapples with the revelation that he will kill Dumbledore—a future event that horrifies McGonagall but which Dumbledore himself seems to accept as part of a larger plan.
The book confirms Voldemort’s Horcruxes (including Slytherin’s locket and Hufflepuff’s cup) and Draco’s assassination mission, leading Dumbledore to delay direct action against the Horcruxes until more are identified, while also using the foreknowledge to protect targets like Emmeline Vance and Ollivander from Death Eater attacks.
The private reading ultimately becomes a blueprint for the war’s endgame, with Dumbledore resolving to use the books’ intelligence to outmaneuver Voldemort—though the looming specter of his own death and Snape’s role in it casts a shadow over their strategy, forcing them to question whether some sacrifices are unavoidable to break the timeline’s cycle.

Summary (Spoilers!):
Petrification Proliferation by White_Squirrel
The Ministry of Magic treats the Basilisk as a "weapon of mass destruction", necessitating a "CODE RED" and a thorough investigation, during which the Veritaserum questioning of a victorious Harry Potter not only confirmed Lucius Malfoy’s involvement in the cursed diary plot, but also exposed the neglect and abuse he suffered under the Dursleys, leading to their swift arrest, while an Auror sweep of Hogwarts immediately uncovered Ron’s pet rat, Scabbers, revealing him to be the fugitive Peter Pettigrew, thus exonerating Sirius Black and establishing him as Harry’s godfather.
This highly competent approach resulted in the systemic clean-up of British wizarding affairs, including the eventual conviction and life sentence of Lucius Malfoy after his furious wife, Narcissa Black, betrayed him to Amelia Bones to protect her son and distance the family from the Dark Lord's wrath, simultaneously leading to the accidental discovery of the massive, artifact-filled Room of Requirement ("Lost and Found") by the searching Auror teams.
Crucially, the discovery that the diary was a Horcrux prompted Dumbledore and the DMLE leadership to create a secret task force which, utilizing Dumbledore’s extensive research, the Goblin-made Sword of Gryffindor, Amelia's interview with Slughorn, began actively hunting the six intended soul fragments (locating the Ring, Diadem, and Locket) and throwing them in the Veil of Death, while also confirming that Harry’s scar held a dangerous piece of Voldemort's soul, ultimately allowing the curse on the Defence position to be addressed so that Remus Lupin could be hired as the new professor.

Bookmarker's Notes
This probably is the best 'reading Harry Potter' fic I read so far. The shock about Harry's abuse by the Dursleys is not a main focus (which makes other fics seem like a "poor Harry" reaction story). The reading has real world consequences before it is even finished (Fudge gets murdered for example). There is also the interesting mystery of how the books came into existence: Rowling exist as a Muggle in these books from the future and Voldemort tries to take her out.
The third book became less interesting and I only skimmed over it because the pacing could be better, but I will definitely revisit this fic when it's finished!
__
Summary (Spoilers!):
Book 1:
When Dolores Umbridge discovers a set of seven prophetic books about Harry Potter in the Room of Requirement and reads Philosopher’s Stone aloud to the school, the revelations—including Harry’s abuse by the Dursleys, Dumbledore’s role in abandoning him there, and Quirrell’s possession by Voldemort—spark a political firestorm, leading to Dumbledore’s flight from arrest and Umbridge’s own downfall when Amelia Bones intervenes to grant Harry and his allies legal immunity. The books’ accuracy forces the staff to confront their past failures, with McGonagall and Snape deducing they originate from a future closed time loop (possibly involving Harry himself), while Harry strategically embraces the readings to preemptively expose Voldemort’s return and clear Sirius Black’s name. The climax reveals the Ministry’s corruption under Fudge, as Umbridge’s attempt to suppress the truth backfires when Harry produces his own copy of the book, forcing Bones to dismantle the charges against Dumbledore and Hagrid—while also exposing the staff’s incompetence (like Quirrell’s unchecked possession) and setting the stage for future readings to be weaponized as both a political and wartime tool.
Book 2:
Harry actively pushes for the public reading of Chamber of Secrets to expose Lucius Malfoy’s crimes, and the revelations (including Dobby’s warnings, Malfoy slipping Riddle’s diary to Ginny, and the Basilisk attacks) force McGonagall (now interim headmistress) to fire Filch for child endangerment and admit Dumbledore’s desperate hiring of Lockhart, while the staff grapple with their past negligence in the original timeline. The book’s details about Polyjuice Potion, Hermione’s research, and Harry’s duel with the Basilisk (and destruction of the Horcrux-diary) not only vindicate the trio’s actions but also lead to the suspension of their Occlumency lessons, as the staff now believe the books will accelerate the war’s end. Lucius Malfoy’s legal jeopardy grows as the public reading provides circumstantial evidence of his involvement, though his political connections delay his arrest—while the staff privately realize the books’ strategic value, using them to preempt future threats like the D.A.’s exposure or Kreacher’s betrayal before they occur.

Great Black family drama with a lot of character development. Part 1 is a favorite, Part 2 feels rushed.
___
Summary (Spoilers!):
Legacies by bored_now
Walburga gets Sirius released from Azkaban, wanting an heir from him in return for her help in getting the Potter boy back. After a number of failed pureblood girl setups, Remus makes him go out with future wife Zelmira Shafiq (great OC!), an Unspeakable with the family gift of empathy. Walburga and the Black family are not amused by Sirius marrying a half-blood, but Zelmira proves herself by her clear thinking, ruthlessness and discovering the locket Horcrux that poisons Walburga‘s thoughts. Arcturus and Sirius get closer by advancing goals in the Wizengamot. To get the Longbottom‘s political support, Cassiopeia researches fixing Neville‘s parents and Bellatrix is cast out of the family (after Narcissa revealed her abuse of her and Draco) and dies shortly after. Narcissa steals the Diary horcrux, the Hufflepuff cup is retrieved from the Lestrange vault, and Harry gets his scar Horcrux removed with Cassiopeia‘s and Zelmira‘s ritual. Cassiopeia kept contact with her obliviated Squib brother, who turns out to be Hermione‘s dad; they reveal themselves as Hermione gets her letter. Sirius and Zelmirya become parents. Part 1 ends when Harry leaves for Hogwarts.
Hermione gets sorted into Ravenclaw with the remaining houses being the same. Under Lucius‘ influence, Draco becomes Harry‘s enemy again. Narcissa is tortured by Lucius after stealing the diary, only being saved by Dobby and immediately divorcing her husband. Year 1 goes as expected, Years 2-4 are basically skipped, including the Tournament. Draco realizes his mistakes as Death Eaters smarm the Manor. Harry always rushes into trouble despite pleas from Sirius and Zel to talk, rushing into the Ministry due to a vision of Remus being tortured (despite not being a Horcrux anymore?!). In contrast to his guardians’ orders he goes after the Horcrux in the RoR which Harry notices due to his headache, he steals the Diadem and keeps it unprotected in the dorm room, leading to a lot of fights and irrated moods. After Draco sees Voldemort create a new Horcrux at the Manor, the Order decides to storm the safehouse. House Elves kill Nagini; Harry and Draco arrive, save Sirius and kill Voldemort once and for all.

Great premise with a confident and powerful Harry who refuses to play by the rules anymore. Brutal. However, some storylines are a bit wild or unnecessary for me (Ron conflict). Still makes it to the favorites.

Summary (Spoilers!):
Blood Feud by Thek1llerRabb1t
After thwarting an assassination attempt by his Slytherin dorm mates, Harry utilizes his status as the newly emancipated Lord Potter-Black to declare the forbidden ancient law of Blood Feud against five prominent Pureblood families, leading to duels where he systematically eliminates the Death Eater patriarchs and their sons, culminating in the unique resolution of the long-standing Weasley-Malfoy feud by granting Arthur Weasley the honor of executing Lucius Malfoy, which consequently elevates the Weasley family back into the prestigious Sacred 28 families.
Dumbledore has failed the uncontrollable Harry, now tries to build trust with him, and introduces him to Gellert Grindelwald. Harry learns that Dumbledore is terminally ill from a Withering Curse contracted while destroying a Horcrux, and together they hunt the final soul anchors, leading Harry to retrieve and eventually unite all three Deathly Hallows (the Cloak, Resurrection Stone, and Elder Wand), surrendering them directly to Death (personified as the teenage girl "Dee") after realizing their corrupting influence.
Following Voldemort's demise and a deal with Fate, Harry enforces several drastic, unique resolutions: he burns Malfoy Manor to the ground to deny the Dark Lord a base, captures Bellatrix Lestrange, subjects her to a complete mind-wipe, and places her in a muggle asylum, and most strikingly, kidnaps her newborn daughter (Voldemort's heir) to perform a blood ritual naming her Delphine Peverell and ensures Narcissa adopts her, before Harry ultimately accepts a new, lonely destiny as Death's "ferryman," traveling the world to eliminate those who attempt to cheat the final destination, wielding the Hallows which Dee returned to him as part of their pact.

Bookmarker's Notes
Really creative (if somewhat unusual) story in which Draco participates in a dating show where 12 candidates want to become Harry‘s next life partner. While cameras circle around them all the time, one candidate is eliminated every week. Draco struggles with intrigues against him and falling in love with Harry, while the Chosen One tries to change the script of the show in line with his values and tries to give everyone a fair chance. Favorited and would reread if I need something very fluffy.

Summary (Spoilers!):
Wix Ever After by Year_ofthe_Rabbit
Harry is hosting in the new MAGE TV reality dating show, Wix Ever After, where the perpetually reclusive and disgraced Draco Malfoy joins out of desperation for the financial stipend and reputational repair needed to save Malfoy Manor and protect his friend Pansy Parkinson's job on the set, all while struggling to hide his deep, secret adoration for Harry Potter which he harbors despite his past as a Death Eater.
Despite the show's best attempts to edit Draco as the controversial villain, his underlying genuineness and wit unexpectedly shine through, forcing the narrative to bend, particularly after he wins a trivia contest using arcane knowledge of Harry, reveals his hidden hobby of breaking blood curses in his ancestral home, and rejects an impersonal kissing challenge on camera, insisting Harry kiss him only when he truly wants to.
Ultimately, Draco wins Harry's heart by exposing his most vulnerable truths—including his anxious attachment style and the dark magic dangers of his inherited home—leading Harry to choose him unequivocally despite the return of a major competitor (Silas), revealing that Harry himself came on the show because he had initially "given up on falling in love", concluding with their off-camera engagement as they commit to working through their complex issues outside of the demanding glare of wizarding television.

10/10 for the genius meta-fic idea, creativity and existential take. The writing style didn’t catch my eye and so much potential here to explore in the story and its characters isn‘t used. The writing style is hyperactive and cracks, but the fic deserves Favorite status for creativity.

Hermione Granger and the Self-Insert Cabal by the_sentient_duck
Fourth-wall breaking crack fic, in which 3 fanfic readers with very different personalities are inserted into the HP world by Trelawney, taking the characters of Kevin Entwhistle, Megan Jones and Salley-Anne Perks. Kevin is actually a responsible, 51 year old teacher who fell into a coma saving his children and does not want to change the plot too much. Megan Jones, a clumsy and excited 19 year old who was badly injured while drunk driving, can‘t believe her luck as she has a crush on Hermione and loves the Harry Potter world while hating JK Rowling. Sally-Anne read too many Dumbledore-bashing Lord Hadrian Potter fics and tries to uncover the real truth by imperiusing her parents and Harry (to shake Quirrells hand) and kills Pettigrew. Everything goes off the rails, the troll kills Sinistra and it turns out that Sally-Anne has worn the diadem and has been possessed by Voldemort after her first tour through Hogwarts, believing Tom Riddle is the good guy. JK Rowling exists in this world and replaces Rita Skeeter. After Voldemort is subdued, Kevin and Megan need to return to their world. They both wake up in hospital beds after a 1 year coma, greeted by Hermione and Harry. The HP books were never published as JK Rowling was arrested.

“Malfoy, Diana!”
That’s not my name. As Diana trudged her way to the stool amidst the whispers, she surveyed the excited faces and felt nothing but contempt for every student, staff member, ghost, and any other thinking entity that inhabited this wretched castle. How many of these Pureblood children had fathers, like her own, who took perverse pleasure in Muggles’ pain? How many Pureblood students felt the same way? How many of these Muggleborns had parents whose memories were modified, like Diana's mother? How many Muggleborns were cheerful only because the Ministry modified their memories?
I hate magic, she thought bitterly as the Sorting Hat was placed gently on her head.

A routine spot of Muggle torture in 1980, as well as the memory charm that followed, leads to far-reaching consequences eleven years later that will drastically alter the course of both the Malfoy family and the entire Wizarding World.

This is a fic I definitely won’t forget. Ongoing.
The first 5 chapters are probably one of the best written and constructed pieces of fan fiction I ever read. Over the course of a sometimes long-winded story, everything becomes continuously worse and the world burns, while everybody only acts in their own selfish interests. This is probably the most cynical dark fic set in the most fucked up, unjust world I have ever read.
___
Summary (Spoilers!):
Muggle Sarah White gets raped by Lucius Malfoy and gives birth to Diana. Ministry aurors interview Sarah, but Lucius gets off free and she is obliviated.
Their life in the Muggle world is hell as she is seen as a nutter by everyone, including Diana whose childhood is a nightmare. Later it turns out that Diana is a witch and that everything her mother claims about her abduction is true.
Abraxas is a Seer wanting the Malfoy Family to come out on top and forces Lucius to invite Diana to the family to claim his heirship, forcing him to publicly shame himself. Diana is forcibly taken from her Muggle family, becomes a political pawn between opposing factions, and her mother dies shortly after.
Snobbish Draco is outraged that he has a halfblood sister. Draco, Diana, and Harry start at Hogwarts in Slytherin. Diana hates the magical world and steals Tom Riddle‘s diary. She is possessed by the diary and becomes an Obscurus due to her hate of magic, while Quirrelmort is after the stone.
Lucius confronts Diana about the missing book, attempting to use Cruciatus on her, which prompts Draco and Diana to flee to the Weasleys as they have become closer. The situation further escalates with petrifications and murders of visiting family members, all while muggle-supporters vs. purebloods tensions at Hogwarts become extremely violent, leaving Draco in a coma.
Despite knowing that someone is on the back of Quirrell‘s head, Diana and her friends fail to understand this is Voldemort, while she falls in love with diary Tom. Despite now knowing Tom cannot be trusted, she lets herself be possessed by the diary as Tom promises a potion for Draco in return. However, she remains alive as only the Obscurus feeds his reincarnation.
Tom and Quirrelmort face each other in the chamber. Harry rescues Quirrelmort from the chamber and hands over the stone to him, believing Snape is the villain, and helps Voldemort to gain a body and flee. Diana saves Draco‘s life. Voldemort turns up at Malfoy Manor and Lucius is back in his role as a Death Eater, while Tom is on the loose and Quirrell joins Sirius Black in Azkaban.
