Cale Henituse was supposed to be a small, uselessly useless, side-villain who only appeared in the first volume. His background story deserved empathy, but he was just an unimportant side character without a recurring appearance.
So when Kim Rok Soo transmigrated into that Cale Henituse, he was like, 'sure, let's do it. Do this and that, then hallelujah slacker life!'
However, that novel didn't say that Cale Trashy Henituse was suicidal?? Now people keep misunderstanding his intentions. He really really only wanted to live as a slacker!

No, it was his voice. The tone of playful resignation as he gave in to Grian’s whims was so familiar, so open, so fond.

Summary
There are a number of differences between the first version of Third Life and the second. The largest, perhaps, being the fact it can’t be called Third Life at all, considering the odds are heavily against any one person living and dying no more and no less than three times. It is a crueler game this time, resources even more limited, the bloodlust of one’s last life cranked up to eleven and impossible to remain allies with anyone who can’t understand that need, and the infamous, regular presence of the Boogeyman curse leaving even the strongest alliances only one moment of mistrust away from shattering.
And that is, of course, before adding in one Watcher of indiscernible motives and their interest in a lost fool of a pet playing a higher game he knows nothing about and a second Watcher determined to piece back together the facsimile of a family he had once had.
But the third comes into this game bereft of himself from a code gone wrong, unsure just what it is he’s fighting for, bloodied and bruised for a cause he can’t remember, knowing above all else he has to win this game again. So why is it that every blow he deals seems to hurt Grian more than anyone on the other end of it?

The Hermits were given a task. Each person would start at a different spot on the map, and each person could navigate the terrain or build as they wished. There was only one goal: find the others. The rules were simple. Number 1: the Hermits could not communicate through text or chat of any form, but other use of their communicators was fair game. Number 2: Night could only be skipped if all other players were also in bed, but sleeping for the duration of the long night would also eliminate phantoms. And Number 3: they would start from square one. No tools. No armour. No blocks of any kind. But there was just one more little catch to their scenario. Each person would start in the location that was personally the most inconvenient for them.

And Mumbo tries to hold back his sobs as he stares at the other, thanking whoever it was that led his love back to him. “ Solara .” He says.
However, Grian blinks at him. “Er… I’m not sure who this ‘Solara’ character is, but my name is Grian.” He says, and Mumbo hopes for this to be some kind of cruel prank. “Are… you alright?” Sola– Grian asks.
Mumbo quickly wipes at his eyes, giving an awkward chuckle. “Ah, I’m fine, yes. Sorry, I guess I mistook you for someone else.” He says, before offering Grian a weak smile.

Summary
The Hermitcraft Big Base Swap takes all the members of the Hermitcraft server by surprise, thrusting them into new environments and handing them new challenges to overcome. However, nobody could have predicted the strange effect it has on those who have change bases, especially after the deed to Mumbo's base is unfortunately eaten by Jellie. Cub has nightmares about losing his arm and eye. Tango quickly becomes the server's best fighter. Grian starts working with redstone. Doc and Mumbo hear voices and feel the draw of vex magic. And after Xisuma realizes what's happening, it becomes a race against the clock to return all of the server members to normal before something goes very, very wrong.

Mumbo doesn’t say anything for a moment, and Grian doesn’t look at him - until a hand gently clasps over his shoulder. “Things do change,” he starts. “We’re both growing as people, Grian, and you’re dealing with memory loss and the things the Watchers have done with you. And it’s not always going to be easy.”
“Comforting,” he mutters, and the hand tightens ever so slightly - not painfully so, just added pressure.
“It doesn’t mean it’s going to change for the worse, mate.” Mumbo squeezes his shoulder once more, before letting go.
Or: Grian and Mumbo have finally been reunited after being torn apart - but they have a lot to learn after almost three years of being separated, and Grian has to figure out just where his place is among the Hermits.

The war is over, the White Star (Radish) is dead for good, and the God of Despair has been resealed, but Cale’s ever so elusive Slacker Life is still out of reach with the looming threat of the Hunters.
