Regect is a phenomenal dancer. At least, in his opinion.
Although, his cousin seems to think otherwise. During the fiercely passionate little "talk" they were having at Christmas, the two decided to settle their differences at the King In Yellow's ball in the middle of some world that didn't exist. The only catch was that this was a couples only dance.
But with 70 dollars and Regect's pride on the line, he sure as hell was going to destroy that bug.

“ZE OH MY GOD, ZE!!” A sudden shout is quick to break the silence, because of course it does, “I know you said you were napping or whatever but you’re not going to believe.. OH MY GOD?!“ Z was about to shout at the entity to fuck off, to let himself fall against the sorted blankets and pass out, but when he turns a panicked squawk immediately leaves his throat.
Because instead of seeing the closed door he thought he locked.. it’s wide open.
Regect standing in that opened space.
Staring at him.
No.
Staring at his wings.
……..
“…Ze?” The entity’s voice sounds out again, but quieter this time, more cautious, “How did.. holy shit.. are those wings?!”

When Z was younger, he was taught that his wings were a terrible thing to have, so he hid them away! Never telling a soul about them, not even Regect or Moe! While at least until Regect walks in on him being shirtless…

"...You seem really persistent with this." Ze spoke, crossing his arms.
"Yeah, 'cause if you go to sleep with back pain, you're gonna be all pissy."

Ze had just returned from yet another trip into Wakafante's fridge to kill some more cave dwellers for him. The fighting has left him stiff as all hell, so when Moe and Wakafante head upstairs to do some brewing, Regect offers to help Ze out.

Regect’s been finding it difficult to sleep. It’s Ze’s fault, something he was lord over the man, but this feels too fragile to. And it’s not like Ze even knows about it.
The first night back, Ze had slept like the dead – so much that Regect did think he was dead, once or twice, and it had led him to staying up all night to make sure that Ze was still breathing, that he didn’t disappear into a place Regect couldn’t reach again.
He thought it would be a one time thing, but no.

“Well… here goes nothing.” Ze whispered to himself before hopping inside.

Regect wouldn’t tell Ze why he was quiet and irritable during a thunderstorm so Ze hops into his dream with the dream cauldron. Yeah, great idea man.
This was written right after the 11th episode and I couldn’t get access to AO3 until now. This has quickly turned from a “canon compliant” fic to a “what if the world in the hole was the real world” fic. Hope that makes sense. "Ow-! What the f--" Regects annoyance was very swiftly replaced by embarrassment at his own actions. "Oh my god, what was I doing-?"
"What were you doing, what was that?!" Ze shouted, his face now fully tinted a light red. Regect stammered a pathetic "I don't know" and put his hands up defensively.
"The fuck do you mean you "don't know"?!" Ze cried.
"I don't! I don't know why I did that, I just did, okay?! Fuck! Oh my GOD, what is wrong with me??" Regect put his invisible head in his hands and let out the shakiest of sighs. Ze simply sat there, processing what had just happened.
A loud silence took place of their conversation. Ze kept glancing back at Regect's fuzzy, clawed hand, almost reminiscing the feeling that was once there. Minutes of quiet passed, and Ze grew more and more restless. Eventually, he couldn't take it anymore.
"Do it again." He demanded.

Jesus Christ, Regect has had enough of talking in circles with this guy. He isn’t surprised; this is how a good ninety-percent of his conversations with Z culminate. “Uh, because you’re an idiot and forgot to shut your door? Why else?”
Z looks like he’s bitten into a lemon for a moment. Regect almost laughs until he spots how tightly Z’s hands are clenched at his sides, a nervous tic of his. They’re supposed to be angry at each other, aren’t they? “I thought you were going to come in,” confesses Z in the world’s smallest voice.
