Will had glitter on his face and a stranger's hand pressed hard against his stomach. The music was loud in his ears, the bass vibrating inside his bones. He made the decision and turned in the stranger's grip. They kissed. When they parted Will looked up and saw his green eyes. Green was such a cold color. It wouldn't do. Tonight he wanted brown, dark eyes, the kind that felt like cinnamon and lazy mornings.

Summary
“Comfy?” Mike asked after Will stopped moving.
“Mm.” Will replied.
Will felt Mike move slightly behind him. They still weren’t touching, but he could feel Mike’s breath brush against the back of his neck.
“Do you want me to hold you?”
“Yes, please,” Will whispered.
Slowly, so as not to startle him, Mike moved closer until his legs touched and then tangled with Will’s. The warmth pressing at Will’s back intensified before he felt the solid press of Mike’s chest make contact. One of Mike’s arms circled around Will’s waist and pulled him backwards slightly until he was firmly in Mike’s embrace.
“Thanks, Mike.”
“Don’t need to thank,” Mike said sleepily. “Just doing my job.”
Will chuckled. “Your job? And what is that?”
“Taking care of you,” Mike said, like it was obvious.After a day where everything seemed to go wrong, Will returns home exhausted, overwhelmed, and in desperate need of comfort. Thankfully, Mike has always known exactly how to take care of him — but as the night wears on, years of unspoken feelings finally come to light, proving that sometimes even the worst days can lead to something wonderful.

Summary

Summary
After a heated moment with Will sparks a gay awakening in Mike, he does the usual Wheeler thing and runs. Will leaves for college without them speaking, and slowly they drift apart.
Two years later Will returns to Hawkins for the summer to run an Art Workshop. Finding out Mike is openly gay but hadn't told him, and is slowly morphing into someone who looks a lot like Ted Wheeler.
Somehow Mike convinces Will to give him a gay makeover and help him come to terms with the intricacies of his lifestyle.

“Um… Yeah, I guess. Where is this coming from?” Will asks, turning his body to fully face Mike.
He shrugs.
“Just been thinking about it.”
“About kissing guys?” Will fires the question quickly, wanting to get to the bottom of this.
“No.”
Will tilts his head.
“Okay, then what were you thinking about?” Will laughs dryly, Mike pulling his lips into his mouth.
“Well… about trying it, but not like… guys.” Mikes face starts to flush.
“Okay, then what? A specific guy?” Will laughs, letting one leg stretch over the couch cushions, his other still held to his chest.
“You could say that.” Mike whispers, his eyes darting over Will’s face.

"My liege," the man whispered, instantly falling to one knee and taking Will's hand to kiss the back of it. "I have been searching far and wide for you, my light. I fear you may not have survived the tremor that shot through our land. I thought I had lost you. Forgive me."
Mike's under-eye muscle twitched.
"This guy is saying a lot of crazy things, yet his tone is calm," Lucas muttered from somewhere in the background. He cleared his throat, followed by some shuffling. "What the fuck is this. Will, do you know that guy?"
"Uh," Will rasped, looking down at the man at his feet. "No? I don't—Um. Are you..okay?"
Answer: The man was fucking crazy and he should not be putting his lips anywhere near Will's vicinity, and he should get the hell out of here. Seriously, what kind of guy steps out of a bush and then kisses someone's hand? What the hell was he thinking?
Or, Mike Wheeler has a very stressful night. An alternate version of himself is driving him up the wall, Will is way too okay with it, and his friends are downright insane.

Not long after the final battle, Mike and Will were inseparable– until Will moved out to New York.
Despite the weekly calls and the freedom of living their lives without terror, there’s no world in which they could last so long apart without it feeling like torture.
