Summary
It is an unspoken thing that in the early hours, when Sam and Cas find themselves awake, they don't admit that the nightmares that sometimes plague Dean's tired brain and keep Cas up in his attempts to soothe Dean, also keep Sam up. Instead, they simply meet in the kitchen for strongly brewed coffee and to share their concerns, for Dean, and so Cas has a chance to talk to the only other person on the planet that knows the man he loves as well as he does. Sometimes the conversation strays to how Cas feels about Dean, and how Dean feels about Cas.

Still trying to hide his broken ribs from his parents from an attack the week before, he makes the decision to drop out. It's what he thinks will be his last day when he is attacked once again. He finds his bullies beaten down by none other than Dean Winchester, a boy he knows from a few of his classes for the hearing impaired since Dean has similar hearing problems. The last thing he expected was that Dean liked him too, or that this one boy could turn everything around for him. And turn his life upside down. Dean is flawed too, but maybe, just maybe they can help one another heal.

Cas can't sleep when Dean and Sam are away on a hunt, and the effects are obvious when they come back from a long one to find the now human Cas with his eyes sunken in and dark circles under them. He confesses to Dean that sleep does not come easily and when it does, it's plagued by nightmares, mostly of ones where Dean dies. Dean decides it's time to do for Cas what the former angel had done so many times for him. It was his turn to watch over him as he sleeps.

Crowley teaches an art class at a university and he's about to hand out an assignment to the class: draw a part of the human body. The thing is, he's seen more boobs and dicks being drawn than he ever cares to see again, so this time, he decides to split his students up into pairs, but he chooses to put them into groupings he things will discourage his students from stripping down for one another. He thinks he's bloody brilliant taking the quietest man in the class and pairing him with the loudest. They can't possibly get along well enough to strip down, he thinks. It just goes to show how little he really knows about his students.

After placing a call in to the cable company, he kills some time. Getting his show up and running again is high on his priorities for the day but the moment he opens that door and sees the blue eyes looking back, he thinks that while he still just wants to have a lazy day, he doesn't necessarily have to spend it alone.

His life revolves around working in the fields and caring for his family which consists of his father John and younger brother Sam. He's not rich by any means, but they're comfortable. The royal woods are off limits to anyone but the royal guard but that doesn't stop Dean from a bit of hunting and gathering of fruits, herbs, and mushrooms. What started out as just another late summer afternoon of berry picking turned into something much more when a horrible wailing erupts from the forest. Dean sees an opportunity for possible food, if that's an injured animal. He gets a lot more than he ever expected...

Dean lives a rather peaceful life. He has his own home, his brother and sister in law live across the street with their kids, so he sees his niece and nephews regularly, he has a fantastic job. Overall, his life is pretty good. He's content. His neighborhood is quiet, family friendly, even if he's one of the few single people living there. When a family moves in across the street, he's happy to see more kids out and about playing. What he's not happy to see is a woman showing up and beating on his new neighbor. Not being one to sit back and watch that kind of violence, Dean goes to the man's aide. He doesn't expect this course of action to change the path he is on, or to affect the rest of his life.

After deciding to bring Dean supplies for cleaning the Impala and lunch, he heads out to the garage. The last thing he expects to see is Dean, bent over, washing the car. In tight. Ass hugging. SHORTS. His offer to help is accepted but how on earth is he going to concentrate on the job at hand when Dean looks good enough to eat?
